Yup, Ole 79 year old Mitch McGoo has been in Congress for 36 years since 1985. What’s Mitch done for Kentucky besides making his donor’s rich? Sure the chamber of commerce will tell you it’s cheap to live there. Average homes cost about $ $160,589. Jim Beam is produced in Kentucky and millionaires run horses in the Kentucky Derby. The crime rate is low plus the rural environment is pleasing.

What is Kentucky’s overall ranking in important areas?

Overview of Kentucky

AREA--40,408 SQ. MI.

GDP--202.175 Billion

COLLEGE EDUCATED--32%

POPULATION--4,454,189

CAPITAL—Frankfort

MEDIAN INCOME--$26,779

Kentucky: OVERALL RANKINGS

CATEGORY             RANK

Health Care                #44

Education                  #45

The study found that Kentucky was the sixth-least educated state in the country overall and ranked 47th in percentage of bachelor degree holders. Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, West Virginia and Mississippi were the only schools ranked below Kentucky. Ohio was ranked 33rd overall and Indiana came in at 37th.

Kentucky ranks 48th in Poverty Rate at 16.3%(poverty rankings by state). The Poverty Rate of Kentucky is meaningfully higher than the national average of 14.6%.  Perhaps Mitch should embrace Trump’s America first policy rather than DC Beltway 1st.
