Political Violence: Whose Ox is being Gored?
By Allan Wall, January 12, 2021
The riot at the U.S. Capitol on January 6th is all over the news. It’s been called a “coup” and an “insurrection”.
President Donald Trump has been blamed for inciting the riot in a speech at the Stop the Steal rally at the Ellipse (located between the White House and the Washington Monument).
Look at the fallout.
The Democrats want to impeach President Trump even though he has scant remaining days in office. AOC has asked that two GOP senators who questioned the election results resign or be expelled from the U.S. Senate. There is talk of banning MAGA rallies. The Big Tech companies (which concealed Biden family corruption during the campaign) are cracking down on freedom of speech.
The goal is to totally humiliate President Trump and his supporters, in the hope that no candidate with a similar agenda will arise.
I wish those guys had never broken into the Capitol. Their actions resulted in the deaths of five persons (all Trump supporters, even the cop who died), plus another Capitol policemen committed suicide a few days later.
I was at the rally and at the march to the Capitol, but I didn’t go into the Capitol and wasn’t part of the riot. Most of the multitude there to support the President did not enter the Capitol building.
We had traveled to D.C. to support President Trump. I knew the election challenge was a long shot, but we felt it was important to be there.
President Trump is accused of “inciting” his supporters, but listen to his speech here. The President invited the audience to march to the Capitol and support Republicans challenging the election and to do it “peacefully and patriotically.”
As Raheem Kassam of the National Pulse points out, the Capitol building was already being entered by a group of protestors before President Trump’s speech was even complete. How could a mob be “incited” by a speech they didn’t hear?
Whatever they were thinking, those who entered the Capitol and vandalized it were not helping President Trump’s cause, but hurting it, giving the Powers That Be a justification to crack down on Americans and take our freedoms away.
For the Democrats and the Media (do I repeat myself?), it is sheer hypocrisy to get hysterical about the Capitol building break-in when they were excusing and promoting plenty of political violence during 2020 and before.
In 2020, hundreds of our cities were scourged by riots and looting, which were part of “generally peaceful protests” driven by “Antifa” and “Black Lives Matter.”
Antifa stands for anti-fascist. Their definition of “fascist” is everybody to the right of Bernie Sanders, and Bernie himself might be suspect.
Black Lives Matter is a Marxist group claiming to fight for blacks but whose promotion of violence increases the crime rate, thus killing more black people. (See Not Your Grandparents’ Civil Rights Movement.)
In 2020, our cities were the scenes of mass destruction, looting, and economic damage. Sometimes local governments just stood by and allowed it.
The Democrats and the mainstream media, however, were very reluctant to criticize Antifa/Black Lives Matter, who function as the armed wings of the Democratic party. Some Democrats defended these riots.
From May 19-31, 2020 there was a three-day riot in our nation’s capital which included an assault on the White House.
According to Fox, “Protesters threw bricks, rocks, bottles, fireworks and other items at officers and some Secret Service personnel were also ‘directly physically assaulted as they were kicked, punched and exposed to bodily fluids,” the statement added.
The result?
“More than 60 Secret Service officers and special agents sustained multiple injuries in three days worth of violent clashes stemming from protests demanding justice for George Floyd in Washington, D.C.”
The Secret Service successfully defended the White House without killing a one of the rioters.
It sounds like an epic battle, but it’s disappeared down the memory hole because it doesn’t fit the narrative. The Capitol Riot, however, does fit the Liberal Narrative, that’s why they play it up.
But wasn’t the mob attacking the White House in May attacking a government building, as were those breaking into the Capitol on January 6th? Yes, but Donald Trump was in the White House, so they thought it was ok.
