Speaker Pelosi declared, "the enemy is within" the House

HeadlinePelosi slams GOP on Greene: 'The enemy is within'

What's Up: Speaker Nancy Pelosi is not going to win this week's Presidential Unity ribbon after her weekly press conference, which slammed some Republicans in the House, specifically GA's Marjorie Greene and CO freshman representative Lauren Boebert. At one point Pelosi referred to members of the minority party as "the enemy."

Quote: "Pelosi said it's 'beyond the pale' that GOP leaders would place Greene on the Education panel.'" — TheHill.com

The First take: The Speaker's outrage is obvious and we hope she finds similar courage to ask her own party about the "wisdom" of keeping Rep. Eric Swalwell on the House Select Committee on Intelligence without addressing the credible allegations connecting Swalwell to a Chinese spy.

NY nursing home deaths almost 50% higher than initially reported

HeadlineNY nursing home COVID deaths more than 12K, Cuomo Health chief reveals

What's Up: A stunning and horrific story broke out of New York on Thursday as the state reported what many had feared for months: the death toll from COVID-19 in NY's nursing homes was much higher than reported.

Quote: "That report said data from 62 nursing homes showed the death toll of residents was 56 percent higher than publicly acknowledged by by the Department of Health." — NYPost.com

The First take:  Frankly, we're not surprised by this tragic story. For months, NYers have been relentless in trying to get accurate data from the Governor's office on the number of deaths. Now we know the truth. Shame on the media for not pressing the governor on the story. We note, even in the day since this awful story was exposed, the MSM's total coverage would barely fill a two-minute segment.

Questions about the GameStop story has the SEC vowing oversight

HeadlineSEC reviewing recent trading volatility amid GameStop frenzy, vows to protect ‘retail investors’

What's Up: The GameStop / Robinhood trading story is getting hotter as federal regulators are looking into the situation. Congress has vowed (both houses) to open hearings to find out if anything illegal happened and in the meantime, trading of GameStop has resumed.

Quote: "'The Commission is working closely with our regulatory partners, both across the government and at FINRA and other self-regulatory organizations, including the stock exchanges, to ensure that regulated entities uphold their obligations to protect investors and to identify and pursue potential wrongdoing,' the regulator added." — CNBC.com

The First take: A couple of items to watch here. The term "self-regulatory organizations" always makes us want to look deeper into something. While we support smaller government, in this case we would not want the "wolf to be guarding the hen house" and telling us everything is fine.

Athletes speaking out on executive order on trans women competing

HeadlineFormer D1 Athlete Speaks Out Against Biden’s Executive Order That Allows Biological Men To Compete In Woman’s Sports

What's Up: Less than a week after President Biden signed an executive order allowing transgender women to compete against biological women, athletes are beginning to express their feelings. The Daily Caller interviewed  former NCAA Division 1 athlete Kiki Robinson about the move that will allow biological men to compete against biological women.

Quote: "'It takes one transgender biological male to take one biological female’s spot in our sport’s league, that’s one little girl’s dream of becoming a professional athlete, its one little girl’s scholarship that she has been working towards since she was nine years old,' Robinson said." — DailyCaller.com

The First take: If the ultimate goal of President Biden's executive order was "fairness," we're not seeing it. Just like the GameStop story appears to be uniting people of different political persuasions, we're seeing liberal feminists questioning how this move "helps" women get ahead. Stay tuned, it feels like this "race to fairness" has just begun.

Coming up:

Joe Biden sure seems to be putting Americans last, when it comes to immigration policy. From open borders to amnesty, the administration has put out the welcome mat for caravans of migrants, coming from some of the region's most impoverished countries and seeking refuge in America. Will a return to Obama-era policies, with an added layer of 2021-style radicalism deal a fatal blow to our nation's most needy, if not our sovereignty? Jesse Kelly and guests, including an Angel Mom -- an immigrant herself -- have a dire warning. TONIGHT at 9p ET.
