This Week in the Office of Senator Marco Rubio 

On Wednesday, I joined Dr. Andrew Abela, Dean of Catholic University’s Busch School of Business, for a discussion on faith, common good capitalism, and the dignity of work at the 2020 Principled Entrepreneurship Conference. Read more here.

  

On Thursday, I urged Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Ajit Pai to reexamine Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act in light of specific and egregious instances of censorship and partisan content moderation by social media companies, especially Facebook and Twitter. On Friday, as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, I sent a letter to Charles Scharf, Chief Executive Officer and President of Wells Fargo, following recent reports that the bank fired more than 100 employees for allegedly defrauding the Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program. The letter follows my continued oversight of the small business COVID-19 recovery programs. Read more here .

On Wednesday, I joined The LIBRE Initiative during Hispanic Heritage Month to highlight the role Hispanic Americans play in our nation as well as the importance of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), which I co-authored as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship.
