WEEKLY UPDATE Nineteen years ago today, life changed for nearly 3,000 families who lost loved ones in a despicable act of evil, the worst act of terrorism our nation has ever experienced. Nineteen years ago today, first responders rallied to help their fellow citizens and people across the country united to mourn, pray, and serve our country together. The day will be forever etched in my memory. I pray we never forget the reality of evil. And I pray we never fail to teach the generations coming behind us how precious freedom is. Today, let’s not only honor those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, but also those brave Americans who continue giving their lives to preserve and protect the freedom we cherish.
