LIBERALS ARE 'MIS-EDUCATING' OUR CHILDREN

LIBERALS ARE 'MIS-EDUCATING OUR CHILDREN

It is pretty late in the game - liberals have been destroying our K-12 education system for a LONG time.  "Mis-Education" at http://www.scragged.com/articles/resisting-dewey-eyed-progressive-mis-education explains how progressives deliberately destroyed our K-16 education system.  It has links to related articles about how and why.

Let me give you some arguments.

The stakes are VERY HIGH.  You might want to point out to your committee that unless teachers turn students into world-class taxpayers, their pensions will NOT BE PAID!!  I do not know how many of them can understand that, but it's obvious.

Not only that, "Innovate or Starve" at http://www.scragged.com/articles/innovate-or-starve points out that continued innovation is vital to our getting enough to eat.  Our broken education system is making it harder and harder to maintain our high-tech farms which feed us and much of the rest of the world.  Neither solar, wind, nuclear, nor hydroelectric power give us anything to eat - all our fertilizer comes from oil.  Fossil-fueled agriculture feeds us.  If our education system declines to the point that we can't maintain it, life will get unpleasant.

Education has gotten more critical since that was written.  Unless we have a great many highly skilled blue collar workers, we will lose the Internet - maintaining the cell network is tricky.  If we run short of elevator maintainers and A/C technicians, our cities will become uninhabitable.

"Education Catch 22" at http://www.scragged.com/articles/america-s-education-catch-22-part-1 explains the challenges facing a young person who wants to prepare for a job in manufacturing.  American factories are producing more value than ever before, but they need well-educated workers.  There are no more manufacturing jobs that can be learned from scratch while working, so to get that first job, kids need skills our schools don't teach.

Why they do it

Sun Tzu said we need to understand the enemy's thought process.  The bottom line is that they seek power over us by any means, but they cloak it in nice-sounding rhetoric.

"The Religion of Equality" at http://www.scragged.com/articles/the-religion-of-equality shows how liberals cloak their destruction of our schools in the mantle of equality!

The fundamental problem is that in all areas of human endeavor, from a basketball team to running a small town to running a nation, someone has to be in charge.  Under either socialism or communism where equality of result is the primary religion, those who are in charge tend to allocate a somewhat more equal share to themselves than to everyone else.  They deserve it because of their selfless service to the greater good, of course...

Homeschooling is easier than ever

Homeschooling is a lot easier now than it was when I was homeschooled back in the 50s.

"Internet Schooling" at http://www.scragged.com/articles/homeschooling-across-the-internet lists a number of FREE online K-16 education resources and gives a simple way to get into any rigorous fact-based high-end college.

Nate's first comment on that site has a link to videos of the MIT freshman Physics course.  High-schoolers should watch that, not because everybody wants to be a physicist, but because learning how physicists think will help no matter what the future holds.  He also posted a number of links to free computer science courses.

This is a set of free videos about infections diseases:  https://www.thegreatcoursesdaily.com/an-introduction-to-infectious-diseases-full-video-course/?utm_source=Web&utm_medium=Daily&utm_campaign=1000778?%22

End of the road

This is a self-correcting problem as explained in the Amazon book http://amzn.to/1KQXwhN  Society always collapses when the government costs more than the society can afford because of the Confucian Cycle.  Around 500 BC, the Chinese sage Confucius listed four rules for ordering society.

When the Chinese followed his rules, the nation prospered.  When government employees got too greedy, society fell apart into anarchy, civil war, or foreign invasion.  This "Confucian cycle" of prosperity, government greed, collapse, anarchy, and restoration has been documented many times in Chinese history.  This happened 10 or 15 times in China depending on how you count dynasties.

We're well past the Confucian tipping point.  If our society collapses, half our population will starve because muscle-powered agriculture simply can't feed all of us.   As the book points out, however, the collapse resets the bureaucracy and society starts over.

That's one way to cut spending.  We have far more obligations than we can pay.  Spending will be cut, either the hard way through politics as explained in the book or the very hard way through collapse.

hang in there!
