COVID-19 STATISTICS

Submitted by: J Cryots

Covid a regional disease? Plus weekly progress update chart.
If true, this poll spells trouble for Trump......

It seems like no one is blaming Andy Cuomo for being at the regional epicenter of the virus and letting it become so deadly through boneheaded decisions he made!

I did some calculations this morning that show 7 in 10 virus deaths are in the Northeast. Covid-19 is largely a regional disease, at least to this point.
We should stop treating it as though it is equally ubiquitous throughout the nation. It is NOT.

USA Covid-19 Deaths, as of 5/7/2020, per https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/

Deaths:  74,948

1)  Northeast:  51,588
2)  Rest of the USA and territories:  23,360

69% of deaths are in one region of the country, the one region exclusively "managed' by Democrats, the Northeast.

Meanwhile, some good news......the "velocity" of new infections (relative to recoveries) continues to slow. It had once been as high as 185.1 and is now at a much more torpid 4.6 active cases for each recovered case.

As you can see, while dropping, it is doing it quite slowly and that suggests it will continue to be with us for quite awhile, unless it suddenly dies out much like its older "brother," SARS.
