FLORIDA - JOE HARDING WEEKLY UPDATE 04/17/2020

WEEKLY UPDATE In case you missed it, this week I want to share the conversation I had a few days ago with my lifelong friend, Dr. Caleb Leibee, a second-year resident in the emergency department at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. Caleb is originally from Ocala and offers a unique perspective as someone on the front lines of the fight against COVID-19 who also comes from a family of small business owners. Caleb describes his shifts in the ER and the camaraderie among healthcare workers at all levels, and he responds to questions like how warmer weather will affect the virus. His humble attitude about his work and his understanding of the need to balance measures to fight the virus with the need to protect our freedoms and our economy is very encouraging. Lots of medical professionals are weighing in about the pandemic across many media platforms, but I think you’ll find the few minutes Caleb and I spent together especially informative. I appreciate him and folks from all walks of life that are working hard every day to keep our country and community going. Let’s keep praying for medical professionals working to end the spread of the virus as well as leaders working to bring this economic shutdown to a quick and safe end.
