WEST WING READS 08/08/2018 FORGET OBAMCARE AND LOOK AT PRESIDENT TRUMP'S SHORT-TERM HEALTH RULE!

President Trump’s New Short-Term Health Insurance Rule is a Major Victory for Young People and Working Families

“The average family enrolled in [an Obamacare] Silver Plan will pay a maximum of $13,725 for out-of-pocket expenses, with Silver Plan deductibles increasing by 13 percent in just the past year alone,” Justin Haskins of the Heartland Institute writes. “Health insurance this expensive is virtually useless.”

The Trump Administration is giving working families a break. Last Wednesday, Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar announced a rule that will provide customers greater access to flexible, affordable health insurance plans.
The Investor’s Business Daily Editorial Board writes that Americans give President Trump an “A” grade on the economy, according to a new poll. The money quote—literally: “People are feeling more secure in their finances than they have at least since the early 2000s.”
In The Washington Times, Stephen Dinan reports that “more than 400,000 people came to the U.S. on legal visitor visas in 2017 but were still here six months after their time was up,” according to new information from the Department of Homeland Security. “Visa overstays’ account for a large percentage of new immigrants who settle illegally in the country every year,” Dinan explains.
As about 100 wildfires burn across the Western United States, “President Donald Trump has taken decisive action, issuing an emergency disaster declaration for California,” Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke writes in USA Today. “We owe it to the firefighters we have lost, like Cal Fire bulldozer operator Braden Varney and National Park Service Arrowhead Interagency Hotshot Captain Brian Hughes, to work harder to improve the health of our forests.”
In The Washington Free Beacon, Natalie Johnson reports that “the first round of U.S. sanctions reinstated against Iran this week makes clear to the Islamic Republic the Trump administration's willingness to financially squeeze the regime until it curbs its destabilizing behavior, according to regional experts.”
