SERMON - REMAIN STEADFAST AND CONFIDENT (Part 2 of 2)

Remain Steadfast
And
Confident

Hebrews 3: 1See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.

In Part 1 of the teaching I spoke of what it takes to combat the evils that Satan has placed and will place in our paths. As I said, and I will repeat, “It will get worse.”

We must remain unified as Christians and we must eagerly comfort one another with the same comfort bestowed upon us by our Heavenly Father. We must seek a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit and be prepared to face the horrors to confront us.

Ephesians 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

To “grieve the Holy Spirit,” is to fail to accept His mission of love to us.

As I said and will also repeat, “the Holy Spirit is with us to revive the spirit if the humble and to revive the hearts of the contrite ones.” Do not fall into despair over your sins and failures, but seek the Holy Spirit, pick yourself up, dust off your sins, show contrition and know that He is with you and will not allow you to fall into despair.

It is the Holy Spirit with His supernatural powers that will grant you the miracle of not only being able to carry on, but to be a source of strength to your fellow Christians.

Please, do not fall into the thought that the comfort you will give to your fellow Christians will be something as small as a bag of groceries or mere words of sympathy as. Although both are nice, but the battle being fought against the demons of Satan require far more than those gestures. What you will need, and receive, if you truly trust in the Holy Spirit, will be a miracle that is so very creative that you could never have imagined the solution He delivers.

It will be the Holy Spirit that, in fulfillment of His promises that will create something that will bring comfort in times of every conceivable trouble and fearful circumstance.

Isaiah 57:18 I have seen his ways, but I will heal him;
I will guide him and restore comfort to him,

What the Holy Spirit is saying is the He will heal you and restore comfort to you. Right now, at this very moment there is a troubling of you spirit in need of healing. You cannot do the healing yourself but, through His miraculous powers, He can…and will!

2 Corinthians 1: 3-4 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.

I have been the recipient of just such a miracle. In fact, several times and I will briefly list two of them. One, I was declared to, “Never speak intelligibly again in my lifetime.” Two, I was told, “Lee, for the remainder of your life you will walk only with the aid of a walker.” In both instances I placed my total faith in God and earnestly asked Him to, “Send Your Holy Spirit to be with me and help me.’”

In the first situation I delivered a speech two months later before a group of executives with no problems. In the second, I walk and use a cane only for slight balance problems which, by the way, are very infrequent.

As the results of His healing powers, which are miracles, I am able to deliver these sermons, to be a Christian shoulder for those in need, to reassure any that question His power and to go before Him with my needs. He is there! Believe it! Be of comfort to your fellow Christians.

You too are entitled to the awesome powers of the Holy Spirit, but there is a condition. That condition is you must commit, with all of your being, to the Holy Spirit’s loving hands.

To sum up the edification I seek to share with you is best said thusly: When you abandon yourself wholly into the arms of the Holy Spirit, He creates peace in you.

When you ask yourselves: How can I have peace when my financial situation seems hopeless? How can I have peace when I suffer physical pains daily? How can I have peace when I have lost my job and the future looks grim?

People, look to the Holy Spirit as there is no other place for you to look!

God creates peace, He causes it to happen and He will create peace in you! You must stop playing the role of God by thinking you can handle everything all on your own. Why? Because you can’t as He, and only He, can do it all!  Stop trying to solve your problems and everyone else’s and stop playing over and over in your mind what might happen or what fearful thing might come to pass.

Bring every thought you have to the Lord. Stand in peace with the knowledge that God created you and God loves you and has made promises that He will fulfill IF you stop telling Him how!
Galatians 3:11… "The righteous will live by faith."…

Hebrews 10:38 But my righteous one will live by faith.
   And if he shrinks back,
I will not be pleased with him."

The Holy Spirit is given to all that believe. You must believe that there is a greater measure of the Holy Spirit available to all who pray for it by faith!

Brothers and Sister in Christ I urge each of you to pray that the Holy Spirit increase in your heart and grant you a greater flow of God’s peace. Pray that His peace will come to you supernaturally and when you have surrendered your will and love to Him you will be overjoyed at the miracle you will experience.  You must yield to Him all that you are.

A sign of your actually turning your life over to the Holy Spirit will be manifested by someone, maybe a friend, maybe a relative, but someone who sees in you the Holy Spirit and will ask you to pray for them and ask you to lay your hands upon them and ask for their healing. I know this and thank God for that revelation.

In closing I give you this Word of God:

Colossians 3: 15Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. 17And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

(Closing prayer)

Heavenly Father, King of everything let peace reign in our hearts. Father, we praise You and we worship You and we say with all sincerity, Holy, Holy, Holy are You Lord, King Most High. Holy are You Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Lord, we come to You asking that You increase the measure of Your Holy Spirit bestowed on each and every one of us and bring peace to our hearts and our minds. You are our God and only You have the power to grant us Your Holy Spirit and we pray You do.

Lord, the times we live in are a time of peril. Dangers abound that are designed to literally tear us from Your Mighty Hand. Lord, do not allow us to fall and be with us at every moment especially when we are confronted by the demons of Satan. Grant us the strength to realize that it is You that will prevail and it is You that will be our hope and our Salvation.

We pray these things in the name of Jesus Christ , our Lord and Savior, who is One with You and the Holy Spirit, One God forever and ever,

Amen, amen and amen.
