Trump Demands Dems Deal on Immigration

President Donald Trump continued criticizing Democrats on Thursday for refusing to support any Republican-led immigration reform legislation. “We need two to tango,” Trump said during a Cabinet meeting, citing the Democratic filibuster in the Senate that was blocking any legislation from moving forward. The president called for a new effort on immigration, inviting them to the White House to discuss more details with this problem the country has faced for 50 years. “They don’t care about the children. U.S. states could reap billions in online sales tax revenue and buttress their budgets after the nation's top court ruled on Thursday that e-commerce companies could be forced to collect the money, even if they have no physical presence in a state. The Supreme Court's ruling in favor of South Dakota and against Wayfair Inc. and two other online retailers was a victory for state governments, and a boost for brick-and-mortar stores. The passage was about a staffer from Daniel's team, Daniel Prieto, retelling the time that Obama's national security adviser Susan Rice told Daniel and his team to halt their efforts and to "stand down" in countering Russia's cyberattacks. Daniel was quoted saying to his team that they had to stop working on options to counter the Russian attack: "We've been told to ... Read More

Californians Divided on Whether, How to ... Divide

The movement to slice up the state of California is reeling from internal clashes over what’s the best way to rearrange the state. The Cal 3 measure, which seeks to break up America’s most populous state into three smaller states, recently gathered enough support to earn the right to appear on the Nov. 6 state election ballot, giving voters a historic chance to improve their representation on the national level. But rather than get behind the upcoming vote, the separatist movement has fractured into multiple camps, each offering their own plans and criticizing each other for unfair dividing lines ... Read More

First lady Melania Trump made a surprise visitThursday to a shelter for illegal immigrant children in Texas amid the furor over President Trump’s rescinded family separation policy, expressing her desire to see the children reunited with their parents “as quickly as possible.” Mrs. Trump traveled to the facility in McAllen, Texas, to thank law enforcement officials and social service providers for their work during the burgeoning crisis and to put a compassionate face on a political dilemma for her husband’s administration. “They are scared without their families,” Mrs. Trump said of the migrant children. “I want to thank you for your hard work, your compassion and ... Read More
