Conservatives,
While the French public television is attacking us by broadcasting a reporting that awards us the beautiful title of "crusaders",* the ECLJ continues to defend life and justice on all fronts.

We are this week at the UN, in Geneva, to defend human lives and persecuted Christians.
At the Human Rights Council, on March 5th and 6th, debates were largely dedicated to the rights of children. On this occasion, the UN Special Rapporteur on the sale of children published her report on surrogacy in which she spends her energy not to fight against this practice, but to find a way to make it compatible with the international prohibition of the sale of children. To that end, she simply recommends that, in surrogacy arrangements, the subject of the transaction should not be the child, but the pregnancy! Similarly, it would be sufficient to state that it is not the child who is transferred but his legal parentage!
Thus, surrogacy could be practiced in conformity with international law.
During this same debate, I addressed the Human Rights Council to denounce the fact that “children have become victims of adult's selfishness, of the interests of the industry and of eugenics. Like slaves, they can be killed, sold and bought.”

The ECLJ also organized a side-event in the headquarters of the United Nations on the right to know one’s origins. The ECLJ gave the floor to donor-conceived women who told their personal story and experience of being deliberately deprived of their “biological father.” These women were deeply hurt by this serious injustice. They are fighting today to know their father, their potential brothers and sisters, their own history and origin. We will soon publish texts and videos of this conference.
The ECLJ supports their action to make the fundamental right to know one’s “biological parents” recognized and guaranteed for all. This right constitues the necessary connection between nature and parentage; it opposes the dehumanization of procreation.
Following this conference, the ECLJ will publish a new report: “The violation of the rights of children conceived by artificial reproductive technologies”.
This week, the ECLJ will also defend a pastor wrongfully imprisoned in Turkey for almost a year and a half, because of his Christian faith. His own daughter will speak on behalf of the ECLJ to the 47 ambassadors of the Human Rights Council.
Finally, during the next two weeks, the ECLJ will meet diplomatic missions and intervene again to defend Christians in Pakistan, as well as demanding the prosecution of ISIS jihadists for genocide and crimes against humanity.
Thank you for your support,
Grégor Puppinck.
