DAILY BELLWETHER 02/12/2018 OBAMA CREATED LIBYAN DEBACLE

Sensitive Information in Dems’ Memo Puts Trump in ‘No-Win Situation,’

Republicans accused Democrats on Sunday of attempting to score cheap political points by intentionally including information compromising to the intelligence community in their memo rebutting charges of FBI misconduct. Democrats knew the White House would have to edit or block the document, the Republicans said, thus exposing President Trump to charges of hypocrisy. Marc Short, White House legislative director, said the president believes Rep. Adam B. Schiff of California, the ranking Democrat on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the author of the memo, intentionally put “methods and sources that he knew would need to be ... Read More

Obama Policy Helped Create No. 1 African Threat

Barack Obama went to the United Nations Security Council to coordinate military intervention against Libyan strongman Moammar Gadhafi's regime, claiming the objective was to save the lives of peaceful, pro-democracy protesters, describes a new report in Joseph Farah's G2 Bulletin. Senate to Start Open Debate on Immigration

With a spending deal now completed, Congress begins efforts this week to pass bipartisan immigration reform -- starting on Monday with a rare, open-ended Senate debate set to focus largely on the future of tens of thousands of illegal immigrants known as "Dreamers." Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., expressed optimism Sunday that Democratic and Republican senators could agree soon on legislation that ... Read More

Newly Released Texts Raise Questions about Obama’s Role in Clinton Probe

Text messages between FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, released Wednesday, raised serious questions about whether President Obama kept tabs on the bureau’s 2016 investigation into Hillary Clinton, despite his assurances otherwise. In a Sept. 2, 2016, message to Mr. Strzok, a senior FBI agent, Ms. Page, a bureau lawyer, said they were preparing reports on the Clinton investigation for FBI Director James B. Comey because “potus wants to know everything we are doing.” “POTUS” is the common Washington acronym for President of the United States. In another text exchange, sent on June 30, 2016, Mr. Strzok and Ms. Page discussed changes to the statement ... Read More

IRS Overpaid Nearly $3.5 Billion in Obamacare Tax Credits in 2017, Can’t Recoup Money

The IRS overpaid nearly $3.5 billion in Obamacare tax credits last year that it cannot recoup because of constraints built into the program, frustrating Republicans who have failed to repeal the health care law but say that money could have been spent on programs for veterans or infrastructure. A Treasury watchdog said the government paid out roughly $24 billion in Obamacare subsidies in the heart of the 2017 tax-filing season, with $5.8 billion in overages. Of that, just $2.3 billion was clawed back, leaving $3.5 billion in outstanding excess payments. “The overpayments were that much?” said Rep. Phil Roe, Tennessee Republican. ... Read More
