APPARENTLY MITCH GOT THE WORD!

Look! You kicked Sen. McConnell into gear

Dear Laurina,
You made a difference, but we must keep the pressure up because Democrats are still obstructing the judicial nomination process!
We called on AFA supporters on Tuesday to email their senators demanding Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) "Get to Work" and advance President Trump's judicial nominees for a full Senate vote.

Because AFA supporters helped put pressure on Sen. McConnell, the Senate Judiciary Committee reported 8 of President Trump's nominees out of Committee yesterday. This is a great response from the AFA grassroots network, but we have more work to do!
Democrats are obstructing the judicial nomination process by requiring 30 hours of debate per nominee! There were already 12 nominees up for a vote, but now there are about 20 waiting to be voted on. About 40 are still pending in Senate Judiciary Committee with even more to be nominated by President Trump.
Democrats demanding 30 hours of debate for these 20 nominees equates to over 500 hours, and it would take about 30 days just to clear these nominees alone.
As we said in our action alert, if Majority Leader McConnell doesn't "get to work" he needs to step down. Sen. McConnell indicated he is pushing back on the Democratic obstruction, but he has yet to vow he will shut down the Democratic obstruction by changing Senate precedent to decrease the debate time for each nominee.
President Trump's 8 judicial nominees reported out of the Senate Judiciary Committee include 2 nominees for the Circuit Courts and 6 for District Courts. They are:
  • Allison H. Eid, to be United States Circuit Judge for the Tenth Circuit
  • Stephanos Bibas, to be United States Circuit Judge for the Third Circuit
  • Liles Clifton Burke, to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of Alabama
  • Walter David Counts III, to be United States District Judge for the Western District of Texas
  • Michael Joseph Juneau, to be United States District Judge for the Western District of Louisiana
  • Marvin Quattlebaum, Jr., to be United States District Judge for the District of South Carolina
  • Karen Gren Scholer, to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of Texas
  • Tilman Eugene Self III, to be United States District Judge for the Middle District of Georgia
Thanks to all of you who took action! If you have not already, your Senators still need to hear from you. It's not too late!
