Bad Laws, Lawyers & Judges Ruining US: Examples—Starbucks & Pharma
Starbucks was ordered by a judge to pay a woman $100,000 because the lid to her coffee popped off and she got 1st and 2nd degree burns. A 1st degree burn means erythema or redness; a 2nddegree burn means a blister forms. Too bad we can’t all get a blister from Starbucks and collect $100,000.
On the other hand, another true story—my wife got a bladder infection that seemed resistant to cranberry juice and an herb, Uva Ursi. So she “asked her doctor” and he prescribed Cipro. She took it for a few days till symptoms were subsiding and forgot about it till some months later, she developed red spots in her skin.
A blood test and then a bone marrow showed her platelets were wiped out—cause unknown. So she had a splenectomy, high steroids, gamma globulin, transfusions till she died of a stroke. Her hematologist signed her death certificate as idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura.
In my internal medicine training, I was taught that idiopathic meant idiotic on the part of the MD, and pathetic on the part of the patient. I looked in my Physician’s Desk Reference and discovered Cipro could have caused her condition, and nothing else in her medical history would explain it.
But try and sue a drug company for the damages like the woman who was burned. It’s nearly impossible, thanks to bad laws, lawyers and judges.
I visited US Senate offices with medical literature supporting the fact that Adverse Drug Reactions where the leading cause of illness and death until one senator said, You are wasting your time—they own us, speaking of donations that drug companies make to their re-election campaigns.
Marcia Angell, MD was editor of the New England Journal of Medicine before she wrote The Truth About the Drug Companies (How They Deceive Us) and she told 60 Minutes that drug companies spend $400 million a year on Congress.
Most people would be surprised to learn that drug companies don’t do long term studies on their drugs. Why should they want to know if it causes trouble later—that would just be another good business opportunity for them, but if they knew about a problem, it could make trouble for them.
It is no wonder that the last message in the Bible is a call out of Babylon that include the confused systems of education, government, medicine and religion. We should ‘be not partakers of her sins that [we] receive not of her plagues…for by her sorceries [the Greek word is pharmakeia] were all nations deceived.” Revelation 18:4,23.
Biblical law would prevent drug donations to congress. God commanded righteous judgment—““You shall not pervert justice; you shall not show partiality, nor take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous.” Deuteronomy 16:19.
“If men have a quarrel and one strikes the other with a stone or with his fist, and he does not die but remains in bed, if he gets up and walks around outside on his staff, then he who struck him shall go unpunished; he shall only pay for his loss of time, and shall take care of him until he is completely healed.” Exodus 21:18,19.
According to biblical law, Starbucks should pay for the medical treatment of her burns and loss of time. The same would be true for drug companies—they should pay for the medical care of the heart attacks (Merck) or damages caused by their products that kill over 2 million people a year, and for every death, 550 were sick enough to see the doctor; for each death, 40 were sick enough to be put in the hospital and for each death, 15 people were put in a nursing home or long-term facility—messed up for life?
In cases of death, the killer was to flee to a city of refuge where he could plead his case and if the judge determined that it was accidental or unintentional, he could be protected in that city, but executed if he was shown to have prior motives or wrong intentions.
So it is with drug companies. The Adverse Drug Reactions seem unintentional and doctors are largely ignorant as to the true causes of most medical conditions. But for those who know and who are in the business with profits as a primary motivation, biblical law prescribes “life for life.” Exodus 21:23.
This suggests that the directors of drug companies could lose [eternal] life for their role of misery and death their greedy profits have caused.
Physicians who understand this should consider coming out of that system or changing their practice of medicine, even if it meant the loss of hospital privileges for not practicing according to the standards of their medical community. It might even include the loss of their medical license. The truth hurts; within the past couple years, scores of alternative medicine physicians have been killed. Shouldn’t we should be asking for an investigation so the killers pay for their crimes? What aboutthe Clinton body count?
Nothing new--an estimated 50 million died in the Protestant Reformation. The papacy likes to paint that as a two-sided conflict and it minimizes the numbers, but it’s just been 20 years since a million Protestant Rwandans were killed, labeled first as Communists to make it politically correct as the UN with probable signals from John Paul II, ordered a stand-down of troops to let the Rwandan government “handle it.”
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
