BERTRAND DAILY REPORT 05/04/2017 INTELLIGENCE BRIEFING

Bertrand Daily Report
The War For Our Mind & Soul Continues

Subject: Your Morning Intelligence Brief (May 4th,2017)

May 4th, 2017

Ed Note: Today's featured article is about a small group of Native Americans designated as U.S. Border Patrol agents/trackers inside Arizona's Tohono O'Odham Reservation, southwest of Tucson, encompassing a large area that overlaps into Mexico. Native Americans move freely back and forth across the border where a vehicle barrier is the only diversion along the border. One particular ranch has the border passing through the ranch with their well water on the Mexican side.

Tohono is the most active area for drug and human smuggling into the United States. A "coyote" leading drug (human) mules north, have the help by many of the small villages that dot the desert north to Interstate 8 in Pinal County.

This is a problem that is not going to be easily solved with a "wall" along that portion of Tohono/Mexico and the resistance to a "wall" on the reservation will be great.... (IMO) will NOT be allowed to be built. Note: When a USBP Drone spots a group moving across the border on the Tohono Reservation, permission to intercept the group must be approved before taking action. The "Shadow Wolves" work mainly at night and consist of about 5 Native Americans. It's only a Band-Aid to the actual mass movement of drugs. --Dave Bertrand

Today's Featured Article / Report

ICE Shadow Wolves

The Shadow Wolves comprise a U. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) tactical patrol unit based on the Native American Tohono O’odham Nation in southern Arizona. Shadow Wolf officers are known for their ability to track alien and drug smugglers as they attempt to smuggle their illegal commodities across the border. The unit boasts an esteemed history of tracking passed down from generation to generation. The name "Shadow Wolves" refers to the way the unit hunts, like a wolf pack. When one wolf finds prey, it calls in the rest of the wolf pack.

Despite possession of high-tech equipment, the unit relies mainly on traditional methods of tracking, primarily a technique called "cutting for sign." "Cutting" is searching for and analyzing "sign," which includes any kind of physical evidence (footprints, tire tracks, thread, clothing, etc). Officers may spend hours or days tracking in the field following a "sign" until arrests and seizures are made, or it has been determined that the contraband has been loaded into a vehicle and transported from the area.

U.S. Test Fires Missile Off Calif. Coast; Can Carry Nuclear Weapons, Travel 8,000 MilesOff the Grid News - The U.S. Air Force Wednesday morning successfully test fired an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) that is capable of carrying nuclear warheads. The test – the second one in the past week — came as the crisis with North Korea continued to escalate. Both missiles were fired from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California and flew more than 4,000 miles across the Pacific before splashing down in the ocean. The tests came days after North Korea tested its own missile. Each U.S. missile is capable of traveling more than 8,000 miles…. The missiles, which carried no payload, splashed down in the Pacific near Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands, about 2,500 miles south of Hawaii.

Sean Spicer Promotes ‘Bollard Wall’ Fencing to Satisfy Budget Critics (Video)
Breitbart - … White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer claimed that Republicans did get funding for a “wall,” pointing to existing photos of fences with bollard style steel construction and “levee walls.”… Spicer refused to describe his fence photos as Trump’s promised wall, but assured them that it would be effective in protecting the border. He told reporters that the fencing was endorsed by DHS Secretary John Kelly. Kelly has proposed large bollard fencing to help secure the border, although he has also supported the idea of “a concrete wall” on the border…. The House budget agreement specifically cites funding for “border fencing” and “steel bollard designs,” not a wall, after Democrats insisted that money for border security would not be used to fund Trump’s wall.

California Mulls Blacklist for Border Wall Contractors
Breitbart - State Sen. Ricardo Lara (D) said that California is not interested in doing business with any company that works on President Trump’s proposed border walls… Lara introduced a bill in December 2016 that initially would have required voter approval for any federally-funded infrastructure project built along the California-Mexico Border. In April 2017, he amended the bill to prohibit the State from awarding contracts to any person who works on a federally-funded “wall, fence, or other barrier along California’s southern border,”… Former California Assemblyman Felipe Fuentes (D), who’s now a lobbyist for California contractors, noted that California is on a dangerous path with this type of legislation. “What we’re doing here is very dangerous in that we’re creating a slippery slope and hand-picking projects that are not politically favorable to the California Legislature,” Fuentes said.

Obamacare Repeal Suddenly Looks Possible After Two Key GOP Holdouts Flip
Zero Hedge - …Republican reps. Fred Upton and Billy Long both said Wednesday they will support the GOP’s ObamaCare repeal-and-replace bill with the addition of a new amendment Upton drafted. Until this morning, both had opposed the bill, and prompted us to write on Monday that Republicans are just one vote away from failure again. The two Republicans told reporters at the White House after a meeting with President Trump that they are ready to vote for the bill once a new amendment Upton helped devise - which would boost funding for people with pre-existing conditions - is added. The amendment would provide $8 billion over the next 5 years to reduce premiums and other costs for those with pre-existing conditions who have a gap in coverage and reside in states that received waivers from some of Obamacare’s requirements.

COMEY: Huma Abedin’s Classified Emails Were Regularly Forwarded to Her Husband Anthony Weiner’s Computer (Video)
The GatewayPundit - In a new update on the Hillary Clinton email scandal, FBI Director James Comey spoke before the Senate Judiciary Committee in a hearing on FBI oversight wherein he states that emails containing classified information were forwarded to Huma Abedin’s then-spouse, former congressman Anthony Weiner. Weiner was being investigated separately because of his (possible) inappropriate communications with a minor. Speaking on the topic, Comey remarked: “Somehow, her emails were being forwarded to Anthony Weiner, including classified information . . . His then-spouse Huma Abedin appears to have had a regular practice of forwarding emails to him for him to print out for her so she could deliver them to the secretary of state.” When asked if former Congressman Weiner read any of the classified emails, Comey took a long pause and then stuttered his way to the phrase: “I don’t think so,” He then went on to say, “I don’t think we’ve been able to interview him because he has pending-eh, criminal problems of other sorts…”

Report: Hillary to Start PAC to Fight Trump, Will Resume Giving Paid Speeches
The GatewayPundit - Mike Allen of Axios reports: “Hillary Clinton soon will launch a PAC as a way of “acting as a quiet catalyst” for organizations she cares about, and eventually will help 2018 congressional candidates — but with no intention of making it a vehicle to run for anything herself. According to a source familiar with the planning, the initial focus will be on lifting up organizations that are the product of the energy and activism she has seen since the election, and existing groups that have been reignited and reinvigorated by that energy. She has met with some of these groups, and it’s something she’s become increasingly passionate about with each meeting, the source said.” Clinton also plans to return to paid speaking. The Harry Walker Agency, her speakers’ bureau, has a page up inviting clients to “Book Hillary Rodham Clinton.”

Obama Unveils The $500 Million Obama Presidential Center In Chicago
Zero Hedge - Signing $60 million for a book contract, and rolling out on the speech circuit at $400k a pop is enough to inspire former US presidents with creative ways how to be remembered by future generations. Take former President Obama for example, who together with Michelle, are in their hometown Chicago this week and offered the city its first peek of the future Obama Presidential Center, which will be built on a 200,000-square-foot campus in Jackson Park on Chicago's South Side. A memorial that would make pharaohs jealous, the center will sit near a lagoon that runs into Lake Michigan in the Jackson Park neighborhood and will feature three buildings: a museum, a library, and “forum,” which will house an auditorium, restaurant, and public garden. It will also have a sledding hill. The Obama Foundation said that the center, located near Chicago's historically African-American Woodlawn neighborhood, will revitalize the Jackson Park neighborhood by attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors and creating new jobs on the South Side…. Obama is expected to use the center as a platform to work on issues such as criminal justice reform and education for underprivileged children. The entire project is expected to cost $500 million.

Chester County Press         Twelve arrested in ICE raid at mushroom farm
Twelve people were arrested at a Chester County mushroom farm on the morning of April 26 by officials from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). They were promptly taken to a federal immigration detention center in York, Pa., where they remain. -- The arrests, which occurred on the private property of a processing facility owned by South Mill Mushrooms on Starr Road, was the result of a visit by ICE officials, who told workers they were there to find and arrest four undocumented immigrants. None of the 12 workers were among those whom ICE was looking for, nor did any of them work at the facility.......
Bakersfield Now          Kern County supervisors to send letter denouncing statewide immigrant sanctuary bill
The Kern County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday voted to bring back an agenda item that highlights its stance on the statewide immigrant sanctuary bill. -- County staffers are working on drafting a letter that will denounce the California Senate bill. -- SB54 would prevent law enforcement from cooperating with federal immigration officials, a measure that proponents say rebukes President Donald Trump for his immigration crackdown.......
Desert Sun        ICE targets jails to find undocumented immigrants, even if they haven't been convicted of anything
In December 2015, Guillermo Hernandez, a 20-year-old with a drug problem who had been arrested for trespassing at a local casino, was given a second chance. -- His public defender negotiated a plea deal that allowed Hernandez to enter rehab in lieu of jail time. His marching orders from the Indio courthouse were to find a rehab facility that would take him in and report back for sentencing. -- But that second chance only lasted as far as the courthouse elevator. As the doors closed, a tall, husky man wearing black slacks and a button down caught the elevator. The man turned to Hernandez and asked, "Are you Guillermo Hernandez?"......
KGBT         Border Patrol casts agent recruiting net at fairs, rodeos
Florence, Arizona -- The beer was flowing and music was blaring in the middle of the Arizona desert when Ric Kindle approached a group of Border Patrol agents and customs officers out to recruit new hires. -- This was no average job fair. This was Country Thunder, one of the nation's largest country music festivals, where U.S. Customs and Border Protection set up a booth in front of a pop-up casino and near the merchandise tent as part of an effort to recruit thousands of new agents and officers.......
Breitbart         ICE, Remembrance Project Condemn 'Vicious' Attacks on Victims of Illegal Alien Crime
Progressives are showing “vicious” contempt of the many ordinary Americans whose spouses, siblings or children have been killed, robbed, or raped by illegal-alien criminals, says advocate Maria Espinoza, who is helping government officials count the death toll of open-border policies. -- The progressives' contempt is showing itself as progressives ridicule the new hotline created to help Americans monitor the multi-agency investigations and prosecutions of illegal aliens who have robbed, raped, or murdered other Americans living outside high-status and well-guarded, wealthy districts, such as Bethesda, Beverly Hills, or the upper East Side of New York.......
Palm Beach Post         Wellington DUI suspect faces deportation for second time
A man accused of driving drunk through Wellington last December while a toddler slept in his car is facing deportation for the second time in less than a year, according to a federal complaint filed in court this week. -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement is seeking to deport Nicolas Mateo, a native of Guatemala living in Loxahatchee. Mateo was arrested Dec. 18 on charges of DUI and child abuse charges after local authorities alleged he swerved across lanes on Southern Boulevard, nearly hitting other cars.......

Coronado tower project resumes
ABP has learned that the project to build eight camera towers in and near the Coronado National Monument and Forest is once again under construction, after a one-month halt. We understand that changes have been made that lessen the visual impact at the Coronado National Monument’s Montezuma Pass. -- It is clear that the Trump Administration has taken a close look at this project and is allowing it to move to completion. While we still have serious questions regarding the viability of this project, we respect this decision and will withhold any further comment until a later date --- after the project is operational.
Fox News         'I'm Not From Mars': Illegal Alien 'Journalist' Battles Tucker Over Deportations
Journalist Jose Antonio Vargas, an illegal immigrant from the Philippines, debated Tucker Carlson on the May Day protests and immigration policy. -- Carlson asked Vargas why some on the left are embracing violence, as seen earlier this week in Portland, Ore. and elsewhere. -- Vargas said he was not excusing the violence but objected to Carlson's determination that the protesters were all left-wing.......
LifeZette        DOJ: One in Four Federal Inmates Is Foreign-Born
...David Cross, a spokesman for Oregonians for Immigration Reform, said he was ecstatic about the Justice Department's move toward transparency. -- “I'm very excited about it,” said Cross, who has been collecting data about the immigrant population in the state prison system for years. “This really will hold people accountable if they have these statistics.” -- The U.S. Marshals Service since April 5 has been providing ICE officials with daily reports of foreign-born pretrial detainees, according to the Justice Department. Officials said ICE expects that its analysis of the data will soon be complete.......
Breitbart          Cuban Border Crossers Drop 99 Percent in 2017
The numbers of Cubans risking their lives on dangerous seas dropped by 99 percent since the repeal of the “Wet Foot/Dry Foot” policy and the inauguration of Donald Trump. -- In February and March, the U.S. Coast Guard caught only 49 Cubans in the waters off the Florida coast. In 2016, the number was 407. Only 86 Cuban nationals sought asylum by coming to ports of entry at the U.S.-Mexico Border, Reuters reported. “Dry foot” asylum seekers numbered 11,892 during the same time in 2016. Comparing this same period, the arrival rate dropped by 99 percent.......
Washington Times          Pro-Trump PAC rescinds endorsement, says White House failed on immigration
A political action committee that enthusiastically endorsed then-candidate Donald Trump in the election revoked its backing Tuesday, saying he has “caved” on most of the big promises he made on immigration. -- Americans for Legal Immigration PAC said Mr. Trump has yet to cancel former President Barack Obama's 2012 deportation amnesty for Dreamers, has set the level of refugees too high and has sent signals through staff that he may eventually be open to legalizing most illegal immigrants. -- “We were so hopeful that Donald Trump would be a man of his word because the campaign promises he made to Americans were the things America needs to do to survive and thrive, but, unfortunately, Trumphas made it clear he cannot be trusted on his most powerful campaign issue of stopping illegal immigration and amnesty,” said William Gheen, the PAC's president. -- Glenn Spencer's comment: William Gheen is an idiot.......
