Hermine, technically a “post-tropical cyclone,” was already blamed for two deaths and remained a threat to regain hurricane force Monday, the National Weather Service said. Republican presidential Donald Trump spoke at a black Church in Detroit on Saturday and was rewarded with a tallit (fringed four-cornered prayer shawl) by the pastor. Bishop Wayne T. Jackson, pastor of Great Faith Ministries International, gave Trump the tallit, imported from Israel, along with a Jewish Heritage Study Bible. Before putting the tallit on Trump, the pastor said to him, “There are going to be some times in your life that you are going to feel forsaken, you are going to feel down, but the anointing is going to lift you up.”
Pastor Jackson also presented Trump with a matching Bible for his wife, Melania. The visit to the church was part of Trump’s effort to attract black voters.
