1. Boehner Is No Conservative, No Matter Which Party Is in Power - by Logan Albright
In a press conference today, Speaker John Boehner tried to sell himself as a true conservative, touting his supposed reforms and lamenting that there was only so much he could do with a Democratic president in the White House. Oh, cool. So if we get a Republican in, Boehner will suddenly turn around and be super-conservative, right? Too bad history tells a different story.
From 2001 to 2009, it will be remembered that George W. Bush - a Republican! - was president. If we take Boehner at his word, we should expect to see a principled stand on matters of spending. Let's go to the tape. Read More here...

2. Freedomworks: Time to Replace John Boehner as Speaker, Stand With Mark Meadows - by Alex Swoyer via Michigan Live
FreedomWorks CEO Adam Brandon stated:
Every time defenders of freedom need a leader, John Boehner has failed us. It’s time to remove Boehner from the speakership before it’s too late to pass bold reforms. Under his speakership, the Republican-controlled House has allowed taxes and spending to increase and their agenda revolves more about pleasing lobbyists than standing on principle. It’s time to end the Boehner Blunder. Read more here...

3. John Koskinen: The Case for Impeachment - by Logan Albright
Key members of the House Freedom Caucus are demanding that IRS Commissioner John Koskinen be removed from office. In an op-ed written for the Wall Street Journal, Reps. Jim Jordan and Ron DeSantis told President Obama that if the Commissioner is not removed, they will begin the proceedings to impeach him.
Modern Americans view impeachment with a sort of awe and reverence. To most, it seems like an inconceivably drastic thing to do. But it was not always this way, nor was it the intention of the founders. Impeachment has always been a practical tool for getting rid of bad actors in government and, given the amount of government corruption we see today, a tool that should be used with much greater frequency. Read more here...
4. The Path to Obamacare Repeal Is Still Open. Why Won't Republicans Take It? - by Adam Brandon via The Blaze
In a recent deft maneuver, Sen. Mike Lee used Senate procedure to derail the highway funding bill in an effort to repeal Obamacare. This inspired Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell to publicly commit to using the budget process to send a repeal of the Affordable Care Act to the president’s desk.
Lee’s attempt to achieve a simple majority vote on Obamacare repeal as part of the highway bill put McConnell in a tight spot, because such an amendment would effectively kill the bill, and the authorization of the Export-Import Bank with it. Using this leverage, Lee managed to achieve an even better outcome, provided that leadership actually follows through on their promises. Read more here...
5. GOP congressman launches bid to oust John Boehner as House Speaker - by Mike DeBonis via the Washington Post
“Every time defenders of freedom need a leader, John Boehner has failed us," said FreedomWorks chief executive Adam Brandon. "It’s time to remove Boehner from the speakership before it’s too late to pass bold reforms."
The move to challenge Boehner appeared to take even some of the House's staunchest conservatives by surprise. Jones said he learned of Meadows's gambit only hours beforehand, but he said he supported it. Read more here...

7. Feds Spend Money For Wordless Shakespeare - by Remso Martinez
Recently, it was exposed that the US federal government recently spent $95,700 to adapt Shakespeare's classic tragedies and comedy's into wordless performances. You read correctly, wordless performances, a poetic "tragedy" in itself! According to a recent Fox News article:
"The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and its state agency the Virginia Commission for the Arts has funded numerous shows from the Crystal City-based Synetic Theater, including a production of Hamlet without words, making the title character’s “To be or not to be” soliloquy slightly less potent. The Wall Street Journal bemoaned the dumbing down of Shakespeare, noting Shakespeare’s plays “without puns is like French cooking without butter...” Read more here...
