Clearest Sign Yet the GOP Will Take the Senate: Eric Holder to Resign

The only reason Eric Holder would do this now, before the mid-term elections, is if he was pretty sure he’d have to deal with a Republican Senate next year. A nomination and confirmation fight is just another area to be politicized before the 2014 mid-terms when the nation has turned against Barack Obama on a host of issues and Republicans are revving up attacks on both the IRS and Benghazi. It means a potential loss of control on another front when the Democrats are already on defense across the country. That instability does not happen unless the people in positions to control this decision see headwinds against them.

First Infantry Division Headquarters ordered to Iraq

It should also be noted that one of 1st ID’s four brigade combat teams is already in Kuwait. This is a logical move. The CENTCOM element that was trying to provide command and control for US advisers and ancillary units can go back to being part of an echelon-above-corps headquarters, something it is designed to be. A division HQ gives the clout of a 2-star general plus the capabilities necessary to support an increasing number of allied players.

Sen. Kay Hagan’s husband directly benefited from the Stimulus she voted for

"When Kay Hagan voted for President Barack Obama’s 2009 economic stimulus package, the Democratic senator hailed it as “the best way forward for working families across North Carolina.”
"One of the families that later benefited is her own.
"DC Manufacturing, a company co-owned by the Democratic senator’s husband, Chip, received nearly \$390,000 in federal grants for energy projects and tax credits created by the 2009 stimulus law, according to public records and information provided by the company."

Justice Ginsburg advocates aborting the poor

Yesterday I posted on a recent essay by Obamacare architect, Ezekiel Emanuel, who claimed that he only intended to live until he was 75. He made a point of saying that he didn’t wish to inflict his vision on anyone else, but the metrics he laid out for continuing life are sadly widespread in a medical profession that has ceased to see its role as one of healing the sick and injured and rather one of deciding what is best for people and society. The old joke that says the difference between God and a doctor is that God doesn’t think He’s a doctor has truly come to represent the state of affairs.

Seeking Attorney! Startling New Craigslist Ad Surfaces

President Obama is a new kind of President, we’ve been told. His staff is young and inexperienced, his ideas are new and terrible, and his campaign has revolutionized the way politicians reach the lowest common denominator. From Obamacare ads to hashtag activism, this White House uses the cool new way to do everything. It’s all about the internet, because that is young and hip and not very much work. Today, it appears the administration has begun the search for a new Attorney General in that very same internetty way. They’ve posted to craigslist.

Combat pay authorized for US advisors in Iraq; combat operations on case-by-case basis.

Back in June, when the potential October Surprise of military action against ISIS was only a dim gleam in Obama’s eye, some 300 US advisors were deployed to Iraq. What was notable about this deployment was that they were not authorized combat pay. As I noted at the time: It is difficult to see how we help Iraqis “take the fight to the terrorists” if the men we send to do this will be so far removed from combat that they do not draw hazardous duty pay. In order to evaluate what is going on, at some point you have to see the situation for yourself. That problem has been resolved

WaPo on Hillary: This “Middle East” thing isn’t looking good

It’s not exactly a story you’d see out of a media that seems to be going all-in for Hillary otherwise, but it’s one I’d gladly accept
