AS USUAL ANOTHER DEMOCRAT LIES TO GAIN AN OFFICE!

THE BILBRAY FILES

Bilbray-Kohn Falsely Accuses Heck on Immigration

Democrat congressional candidate Erin Bilbray-Kohn is promoting an online petition on her campaign website which urges people to “tell (Congressman) Joe Heck to sign onto Comprehensive Immigration Reform.”

Problem is…he already has.

But don’t take Dr. Heck’s word for it.  That’s the conclusion Las Vegas Review-Journal columnist Steve Sebelius comes to in his column today.

Indeed, when it comes to those holding up immigration reform, Sebelius wrote, “I don’t think of Nevada Rep. Joe Heck.”

Sebelius points out that Heck has verbally and publicly declared his support for passing a bill andhas signed on to the most important features of a Senate bill that passed with a bipartisan majority.”  He also has defended “a long pathway to citizenship” against claims that it amounts to “amnesty.”

Lastly, Heck recently “called out his own party’s leadership in particularly strong terms when he heard they might not take up the issue this year.”

Nevertheless, Sebelius notes that in addition to his Democrat opponent attacking Heck on immigration, the Republican congressman is getting slammed from all directions from all manner of liberal interests; from the AFL-CIO to freshman Democrat Rep. Steven Horsford.

Alas, repeating a lie ad infinitum doesn’t make it true.  And the truth is, as Sebelius concludes, Joe Heck has “done virtually everything a sophomore member of the House can do to get legislation passed.”

Democrats desperately looking for an issue to take Dr. Heck out should keep on looking, because this immigration reform dog won’t hunt.

In the meantime and on a totally unrelated matter…

ObamaCare continues to crash-and-burn, and the president’s “If you like your (health insurance) plan you can keep it” promise now ranks right up there with “Read my lips, no new taxes.”

So…

Where does Mrs. Bilbray-Kohn stand on the president’s “fumble” and proposed delay, whereby “If you like your plan you can keep it…but only for one more year”?

We have no idea.  Indeed, The Hill reports this morning that it reached out to a couple dozen Democrat candidates to survey them on the “ObamaCare fix.”  Bilbray-Kohn is on the “No Response/No Comment” list.

Laying low and saying nothing is hardly a profile in political courage.  Unlike Joe Heck on immigration reform.
