ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION COSTS MARYLAND $1.9 BILLION A YEAR
That’s even after accounting for the $120 million paid per year in payroll and other taxes and NOT accounting for lost wages of jobs filled by illegal immigrants that would likely pay more in income (and thus taxes) if filled by a U.S. Citizen.
Each Maryland household headed by a U.S. Citizen pays $910 a year to support the estimated 295,000 illegal immigrants and some 68,000 U.S.-born children of illegal immigrants residing in the state.
This November, Maryland voters decide whether to also put tax dollars toward subsidizing in-state tuition benefits to illegal immigrants residing in the state, which would cost an additional $28 million a year.
