MUTH'S TRUTHS 11/20/2013

SEN. JUSTIN JONES, TASTELESS & SHAMEFUL

Yesterday morning we learned that Virginia State Senator Creigh Deeds had been stabbed in the head and chest by his son, Gus, 24, before Gus shot himself dead in the family home.  Deeds was critically injured but made it to a hospital where his condition this morning was upgraded to fair.

And for that, we can be thankful.

However, yesterday afternoon the Washington Post reported that Gus had psychiatric problems and that on Monday a magistrate had ordered an evaluation.  But the Deeds family reportedly live in “a very rural area” where “hospitals are few and far between,” so there wasn’t a bed to immediately take the boy.

But that didn’t stop Nevada State Sen. Justin Jones (D-Mayors Against Guns), chief proponent of an anti-gun measure in the 2013 legislative session, from hopping on Twitter to make political hay of the tragedy.

At 12:48 pm, while Sen. Deeds’ life was still hanging in the balance and the motive behind the attempted murder/suicide by his son remained unclear, Jones tweeted:

“When we don't properly fund mental health, politicians are in danger, literally.”

Seriously?!!

But, as the News 4 Tucson Investigators uncovered, one installation, right here in southern Arizona, continues to face potential outside security risks, and the problem doesn't seem to be getting any better.

A Devastating Poll on Obama -- and Obamacare
By Michael Barone
Wednesday, November 20, 2013

"The Affordable Care Act's political position has deteriorated dramatically over the last week." That, coming from longtime Obamacare cheerleader and Washington Post blogger Ezra Klein, was pretty strong language. And it was only Wednesday.

That was the day after the release of a devastating Quinnipiac national poll. It showed Barack Obama's approval rating at 39 percent, with his disapproval rating at 54 percent — sharply down from 45 percent approval and 49 percent disapproval on Oct. 1, the day the government shutdown began and healthcare.gov went into (limited) operation.

Bilbray-Kohn Steals Pages from Joe Heck’s
Job Creation Handbook

In a Q&A interview with Andrew Doughman of the Las Vegas Sun, Democrat congressional candidate Erin Bilbray-Kohn coughed up a few fuzzballs.

When asked why she was running, Bilbray-Kohn said she “kept watching as my friends and neighbors were losing their homes and their jobs” while Congress, “instead of focusing on jobs and creating a more secure economy, wasn’t doing its job, and that’s what finally pushed me.”

Now, I don’t know about you, but I’m not buying that “Made in DC” cookie-cutter response for a minute.  But let’s accept it for argument’s sake.  Which raises the question I’ve asked before:

What would Bilbray-Kohn do, as a freshman congresswoman, likely in the minority party, that would create more jobs and a more secure economy?  Inquiring minds wanna know.

This much we do know.  When Bilbray-Kohn’s party was in control of the White House, the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives, it passed the so-called “stimulus” bill that was supposed to create jobs and a more secure economy.
