NONE ARE TOO BIG TO FAIL AND MANY BELONG IN JAIL

The Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations has issued a report on the “London Whale”  trades and JP Morgan detailing what it titles “A case history of derivatives risks and abuses.”
I could go through the entire report (and have read it) and detail each and every point of abuse and intentional obfuscation, but it’s not necessary to do so.
The key point take from this report, and the hearing that will be held today, is singular:
The conduct detailed therein is a criminal federal offense.  So says Sarbanes-Oxley, a law passed after myriad false statements made by corporate executives in the 1990s left investors with big losses and the only retribution available was through civil suit for various alleged torts, including the collapse of both Worldcom and Enron.
Congress responded with a law that requires the CEO of a public company to certify that the financial reports issued by the company be truthful in all material respects and imposes criminal penalties for false statements.

OBAMA - CRISIS TO CRISIS

Congress stops talented immigrants getting into the country (and makes criminals of many who are there).
So when illegal aliens come to the US and give Phoenix, for example, the highest kidnapping rate in the country and second in the world, that is OUR fault for 'making criminals' of them? And our talented college grads can't find jobs but you want us to import talent?
And then he blames both Obama and the Republicans equally for the impasse in the budget.
Hold on, pal. Obama gave us an unpayable debt, job killing regs and a $trillion welfare bill every year and you're only complaint is that Congress can't find a way to agree with the president's insane policies?
Sounds like a benighted Brit who hasn't a clue!
The Economist?
They should call it The Socialist. We have enough bad ideas without importing them.

Luckily, dysfunction in Washington is only one side of America’s story

UNIONS PRACTICING THUGGERY AGAIN

Dear Conservatives,

Lies. Threats. Fraud.

In a Card Check campaign, aggressive union organizers will intimidate and harass workers until they sign so-called "union authorization cards."

These dirty tricks and aggressive tactics will storm through workplaces nationwide if Big Labor rams the Card Check Forced Unionism Bill through Congress -- or gets Obama's federal bureaucracy to implement it through the backdoor.

But these campaigns are already happening across America -- and your National Right to Work Foundation is fighting back.

Last month, with free legal aid from Foundation staff attorneys, a Nova Services employee in Toledo, Ohio, filed federal unfair labor practice charges against Ironworkers Local 55 union bosses resorting to outright bribery to get him and his coworkers to support the union.

One union organizer offered a worker a $50,000 bribe to support the union organizing campaign.

NO JUSTICE IN CYPRUS

In a nutshell, the government of Cyprus just took 10% of every one of their citizens' bank deposits and gave it to their insolvent banks.

BRUSSELS—Depositors in Cypriot banks will be hit with a one-off tax on their savings, as part of a €10 billion ($12.96 billion) bailout for the Mediterranean island from the euro zone and the International Monetary Fund.
The deal, announced early Saturday, marks the first time in the euro zone’s five-year-old financial crisis that depositors in bloc’s banks will lose money. Accounts with more than €100,000 will be taxed at 9.9%, those with less at 6.75%, raising an expected €5.8 billion for the near-bankrupt nation.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, Democrat of California, and gun control advocate, had a fierce clash with newcomer Ted Cruz, a freshman senator from Texas. The two had a tense debate that caught the interest of the Web.
The tea party partisan wanted to know from the senior senator if she would “deem it consistent with the Bill of Rights” to apply the same guidelines of banning weapons in the Second Amendment to the banning of books in the First Amendment?
Directing his question at Feinstein, he asked, “Would she consider it constitutional for Congress to specify that the First Amendment shall apply only to the following books and shall not apply to the books that Congress has deemed outside the protection of the Bill of Rights?”
