It’s Your Choice, Europe: Rebel Against the Banks or Accept Debt-Serfdom

The European debt Bubble has burst, and the repricing of risk and debt cannot be put back in the bottle. It’s really this simple, Europe: either rebel against the banks or accept decades of debt-serfdom. All the millions of words published about the European debt crisis can be distilled down a handful of simple dynamics. Once we understand those, then the choice between resistance and debt-serfdom is revealed as the onlychoice: the rest of the “options” are illusory.

It's Time for Congress to Stop Paying People Not to Work

Do we really want paying people not to work for 99 weeks – nearly two years – to be a permanent feature of the American economic system? Is that what the American people voted for in the historic landslide election of 2010? If not, then why are Republicans poised to – for the first time since the election – extend this program?

The economic case for nearly two years of unemployment benefits is extremely weak. While supporters tout the demand-side effect of the benefit checks being spent, they ignore the much larger supply-side effect of creating a significant disincentive for work and consequently for economic production. The same Keynesians who brought us trillions of failed stimulus and a mountain of debt tell us the paying people not to work is a good way to grow the economy. Common sense – and the data – say otherwise.

Really Fast Results?

We were talking to a friend in Scotland, who’s daughter, 47, has been diagnosed with lung cancer. She said they were really fast in responding. She said it’s only been five weeks since she went in, and she got the diagnosis last week—it takes a few weeks to get the test results. They will have a treatment plan for her this week, they hope. We didn’t have the heart to tell her that in the USA’s much maligned health care system, she would already be on chemo, and lung cancer patients have a higher survival rate than in the UK. All we could do was add her to our prayers.

The saddest thing for me personally in 44 Obama is the reality that he has turned America into an old Soviet joke in his regime is the Kremlin and the puppy press is Pravda. Not since Al Gore claimed invention of the internet has such a lying scoundrel been propped up by the press in B. Hussein Obama. The reality is you do not matter any more as Obama and his lap dog press simply manufacture propaganda to suit the regime's rose colored dogma.
