A new Liberty Counsel client, a high school student in
Fort Worth, Texas, was recently suspended for merely
stating his Christian view on homosexuality - while
his teacher had posted a photo of two men kissing in
the classroom, telling students that homosexuality is
becoming more prevalent in the world and that they
should just accept it!
This sort of double standard in public schools is
intolerable! Across the nation, impressionable minds
of school children are being FORCED into accepting
"alternative" lifestyles and being subjected to
anti-religious bigotry. While anyone with a Christian
worldview can be disciplined for merely expressing
their opinion, radical pro-homosexual groups are
freely advancing their agendas behind public schoolhouse
doors!

In a 2008 debate, Charlie Gibson asked Barack Obama about his support for raising capital gains taxes, given the historical record of government losing net revenue as a result. Obama persevered: “Well, Charlie, what I’ve said is that I would look at raising the capital gains tax for purposes of fairness.”A most revealing window into our president’s political core: To impose a tax that actually impoverishes our communal bank account (the U.S. Treasury) is ridiculous. It is nothing but punitive. It benefits no one — not the rich, not the poor, not the government. For Obama, however, it brings fairness, which is priceless.
Now that he’s president, Obama has actually gone and done it. He’s just proposed a $1.5 trillion tsunami of tax hikes featuring a “Buffett rule” that, although as yet deliberately still fuzzy, clearly includes raising capital gains taxes.

Senate blocks emergency disaster money
Calling for a weekend to “cool off,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid set up a Monday vote on replenishing the almost-empty federal disaster relief accounts as all sides race to beat a deadline to keep money money flowing to disaster-stricken states and to keep the federal government at large running.
“Cool off a little bit. Work this through. There’s a compromise here,” Mr. Reid said Friday, minutes after the Senate blocked back a bill drafted by House Republicans that would have replenished the disaster fund accounts through Nov. 18.

Dead federal retirees rake in millions of dollars each year from the government, a new report reveals. The Office of Personnel Management has shelled out over $600 million in benefit payments to dead federal workers in the past five years, the Washington Post reported. The amount of post-death payments ranged between $100 million and $150 million annually, OPM inspector general Patrick McFarland wrote in his report.Read More

Do you think the government does a good job caring for the needs of the poor? Think about it. In the last century we went from people like you and I caring for the needs of the poor through local private religious and/or community efforts to care for the poor to the mess we have now. Surely you agree with me that the government can never efficiently administer compassion. While President Obama’s proposed American Jobs Act is about to make that worse. It will rip funds out of the hands of nonprofits and relief organizations because it includes a plan to eliminate charitable tax deductions for taxpayers.

House approves stopgap funding, Reid says Senate will block
Excerpt: The House early Friday narrowly approved a stopgap spending measure to keep the federal government running through Nov. 18, as Republican leaders secured the votes of conservatives who had rejected a similar bill a day earlier. The 219-203 vote sets up a confrontation with the Senate, where Democratic leaders have vowed to block the measure in a dispute over federal disaster aid. For Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), the vote was little more than a mulligan. After 48 Republicans opposed his bill on Wednesday, he faced a choice: Scrap a spending cut to win over Democrats who had pulled their support for the bill, or persuade dissenting conservatives that the original bill was the best deal they could get. Boehner chose his right flank, adding a sweetener in the form of a $100 million rescission to the loan guarantee program that funded the bankrupt energy company Solyndra.
