TIn June we received notice from our garbage collector that they were going to drop off a beautiful, big blue recycling container on or about July 1 at an additional cost of $6.95. Its ad on the radio said in order to offset that additional cost, we could request a smaller can that we already have. Hubby and I are thirties depression kids. We know how to live on very little and if we don’t get our Social Security check in August, we’ll survive. While government workers are whining about their salaries and benefits, seniors haven’t.....

Obama: Halt '3-ring-circus,' avert US default

WASHINGTON — In unprecedented back-to-back appearances on nationwide television, President, Barack Obama and House Speaker John Boehner clashed Monday night over the cause and cure for the nation's debt crisis. The two men spoke as Congress remained gridlocked on legislation to avert a threatened default after Aug. 2.
Decrying a "partisan three-ring circus" in the nation's capital, Obama assailed a newly minted Republican plan to raise the nation's debt limit as an invitation to another crisis in six months' time. He said congressional leaders must produce a compromise that can reach his desk before the deadline.

The House of Representatives is currently debating H.R. 2584, a bill to appropriate funds to the Department of the Interior for FY2012.
Rep. Rob Bishop of Utah will offer an amendment to this bill that would protect national forests and parks along the border from being overrun by illegal aliens by allowing immigration enforcement on these federal lands.
