California Gov. Signs Bill Allowing Nurses to Do Abortions
California Governor Jerry Brown has signed into law legislation to allow nurses to do abortions. Dave Andrusko of National Right to Life has more:
Under AB 154 (authored by California Assembly member Toni Atkins), physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and nurse midwives will perform first-trimester aspiration abortions. (These non-physicians already are allowed to administer chemical abortifacients.) The rationale, as always, is that there is not enough “access” to abortion. The cover story is that first-trimester abortion is so safe practically anyone can perform one. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/10/11/california-gov-signs-bill-allowing-nurses-to-do-abortions/
British Woman Dies From Aggressive Infection After Using RU 486 Abortion Drug
A 31-year-old U.K. woman has died of an aggressive and rare infection after using mifepristone (Abortion Pill, RU-486) and misoprostol as reproductive healthcare providers and researchers continue to unravel the association of fatal infections linked to medical abortions. (1)
A case report published in the July 2013 issue of Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology confirms the discovery of the first known global death case of “Fatal Clostridium septicum following medical termination of pregnancy.” http://www.lifenews.com/2013/10/10/british-woman-dies-from-aggressive-infection-after-using-ru-486-abortion-drug/

October 13, 2013: America's Showdown Veterans March on DC and Truckers Roll

Published on Thursday, 10 October 2013 14:12

On October 13, 2013, American veterans and other patriots are going to launch a major protest. President Obama has been using the government shutdown as an excuse to commit a string of almost unbelievable public outrages against Americans everywhere. These include the following unbelievable eye-poppers:
Denying treatments for children suffering from cancer.
Denying death benefit payments to families of fallen soldiers, while keeping the Andrews Air Base golf course open so Obama can continue to play.
Ordering the Park Service to hold elderly Yellowstone Park visitors in their hotel rooms under armed guard, then ordering them out of the park on busses and denying even a bathroom stop on the 2.5 hour drive out.

Parks take center stage in shutdown fight

Conservatives in Congress are charging that the Obama administration has been trying to make the government shutdown as painful as possible by closing some of the most celebrated and iconic national parks and wild lands. Veterans being denied a chance … Continue reading

The Mark of the Beast is Here, Part 2
During the coming years, personal property rights will be vastly undermined. Why? Because of sustainable society ideas and also because when government accumulates power in responding to a crisis, it brings with it the authority to commandeer resources. The roof over your head is yours only as long as the government doesn’t want it; every Real Estate agent knows this. It’s called eminent domain, and I watched my grandfather lose his campground as a result of this law. How long will it be before similar principles apply to those hard-earned bucks you have in the bank? Already there is a global......

The Virtue of Hunting:  Bulwark of Free Men
As Teddy Roosevelt was giving a speech in Milwaukee, a madman approached and fired a pistol. The bullet struck him in the side, passing through his rib cage and coming to rest just outside his lung. Teddy Roosevelt asked the horrified crowd to remain calm, and in a quiet voice he said: “Friends, I shall ask you to be as quiet as possible. I don't know whether you fully understand that I have just been shot; but it takes more than that to kill a Bull Moose.” Despite the pleas of his friends to stop, the great man continued.........

1.  The Fight Remains About Obamacare
I stepped out last night, away from politics, to be the celebrity chef at a cooking school. It was refreshing to tune out the political world.

But when I checked into my hotel after eleven last night, there was a backlog of weepy, crying emails from people ready to surrender.

Why?

SHUTDOWN: WHAT'S IT REALLY ABOUT?

The Democrats and their “amen” corner is the media are very good at clouding what’s really behind this slowdown of non-essential government services, but here’s the core of the situation as explained to me by a key congressional staffer who is very familiar with the policy AND the politics…

“While much attention has been placed on the role of the health care law and its connection with the continuing resolution, the current debate is actually much larger than the Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare).

“The cost of the health care law, originally estimated at $940 billion over 10 years when first passed, has ballooned to $1.93 trillion over the first decade of full implementation. With our national debt approaching $17 trillion, this massive law is but one symptom of our greater problem: unrestrained government spending.”

And as our own Congressman Joe Heck pointed out yesterday in his Las Vegas Sun op-ed this week:

“The president has granted waivers for special interest groups and delayed portions of the law, including the employer mandate for big businesses. The House simply voted to ensure fairness for all Americans.”

Fairness for all Americans.  Is that really too much to ask?
