PENNSYLVANIA - ELECT SAM ROHRER, A CONSERVATIVE TO U.S. SENATE

Dear Conservative,

If I told you that the Pennsylvania Republican Party threw members of the Tea Party out of the PA State Convention, threatened those Tea Partiers with arrest, threw their petitions in the trash, and then endorsed a recent Democrat who voted for Obama as our candidate for Senate, you wouldn't believe it.

But that's exactly what happened last weekend at the Pennsylvania Republican Convention.

Resistance to a new bill aimed at limiting foreign law in Pennsylvania courts serves as a case study of how Islamists and their allies operate: peddling falsehoods about Shari'a, painting Muslims as victims, and denying that anyone seeks to institutionalize aspects of Islamic law — even as they vigorously promote that very agenda. With similar legislation being debated across the U.S., understanding their tactics is critical.
At issue in Pennsylvania is House Bill (HB) 2029, which stipulates that "a tribunal shall not consider a foreign legal code or system which does not grant … the same fundamental liberties, rights and privileges" as guaranteed by the federal and state constitutions. Introduced in November, it follows the American Laws for American Courts (ALAC) model and makes no mention of Shari'a.

DEMS CALL IT 'FEAR MONGERING' - BUT THE TRUTH HAS BROKEN THROUGH

The Cassandra Syndrome for Canada, Europe, Australia and AmericaTo tell you the truth, as a messenger, you might refer to me as the Cassandra Syndrome: The Cassandra Syndrome is a term applied to predictions of doom about the future that are not believed, but upon later reflection turn out to be correct. This denotes a psychological tendency among people to disbelieve inescapably bad news, often through denial. The person making the prediction is caught in the.....

OUR TAX DOLLARS PAY FOR A JUSTICE SYSTEM THAT IS CORRUPT

U.S. taxpayers pay for inept and corrupt federal prosecutorsAs if having a politicized -- some say corrupt -- federal justice system weren't bad enough, the misconduct of federal prosecutors has led to the reversal convictions that leave taxpayers penalized for the cost of defending federal prosecutors who botched their cases, according to arguably one of the top legal watchdog groups in the country. For example, in a case involving the late.....

AG HOLDER HAS MUSLIM TENDENCIES - DID OBAMA CONVERT HIM?

American SuicideSince the White House controls any of America's decisions to intervene, what intervention the Obama Nation might make to protect American citizens from Islamic Jihadists won't be any more convincing than the Justice Department's decisions on the Black Muslim voter intimidation scandal. Eric Holder's very obvious Muslim sympathies included dropping any further action against Black Muslim voter-intimidation referred.....

MINNESOTA HAS WAKENED TO ILLEGAL ALIEN PROBLEM

MN JOINS SECURE COMMUNITIES PROGRAM
All 87 counties in Minnesota finally began participating last week in the federal immigration enforcement program known as Secure Communities. Minnesota is the 27th state to fully join the mandatory electronic data-gathering program used by the Department of Homeland Security to check the backgrounds of those booked into county jails.

More than 110,000 illegal immigrants convicted of crimes – including more than 39,000 convicted of aggravated felonies – were deported through the program, which began in 2008.

All 50 states are expected to fully participate by 2012 despite the outcry by amnesty advocates and sanctuary states that claim the program wrongly targets illegal immigrants who have no felony records or criminal history aside from the obvious criminal history of illegally crossing the border.

POLITICAL DIGEST 02/13/2012

I post articles because I think they are of interest. Doing so doesn’t mean that I necessarily agree (or disagree) with every—or any—opinion in the posted article. Help your friends and relatives stay informed by passing the digest on. In some cases I post things sent to me by readers I might not have posted on my own, to get ideas circulating.

The Week That Was: 2012-02-11 (February 11, 2012)
Excerpt: One of the great disappointments in science over the past few years is the extent to which scientific organizations, which once proudly considers themselves independent, have succumbed to government policy, indeed have become agents of government policy. Once the leadership recognized scientists can have a wide range of opinions on a single issue, even a scientific issue, and zealously guarded this independence. Today, the leadership of many science societies have embraced the official global warming position of the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) – that climate change is unusual, which it is not, and that human are responsible for climate change, largely through emissions of carbon dioxide. The view represents an appalling ignorance of the earth’s climate history and fails to establish the scientific basis for the claim that atmospheric carbon dioxide causes substantial global warming. (As usual, the excerpt is from Ken Haapala’s summary. Especially see Article #2, Political Science, as it touches on both the media support of CAGW and the ongoing FOIA suit at the University of Virginia. Also see the first two articles under the heading News You Can Use. Ron P.)
