Officials familiar with the negotiations say today’s meeting began with President Obama asking House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., to lay out what was agreed upon in the deficit reduction talks led by Vice President Biden.

Conservatives,

President Obama held a press briefing earlier today and promptly blamed Republicans for the fact that a budget deal hasn’t been struck, adding there would be no deal on raising the government’s debt limit if Republicans won’t compromise. “I don’t see a path to a deal if they don’t budge. Period.”  

Instead of doing their job of educating and informing the public on the facts, the liberal media were content to present only the President’s leftist narrative about our nation’s debt crisis.

For weeks now, the liberal media have been pushing the same big lie, “Conservatives are putting our entire economy at risk by standing up to big spending Washington liberals.”  On Sunday’s Reliable Sources on CNN, Howard Kurtz moaned about tax increases not being treated as half of the solution.  The liberal media cheerleading for higher taxes that will further batter our economy is starting to border on insanity.

This is one of the few times I have seen a financial pundit having the chutzpah to admit it: payment of free hospital bills and other public services to illegal aliens out of public funds is a significant part of the federal financial hemorrhaging.

For those struggling to make sense out of those charts, the second is absolutely vital to understanding why deficit spending can no longer stimulate or kick-start or goose the economy.

What the government calls GDP (Gross Domestic Product) contains only ONE component that counts, and it is NOT the part that is borrowed by the government.
