Help Stop Government Appliance Mandates
Congress, after limiting light bulb choice, is now moving toward mandating higher energy efficiency in appliances and just about anything that plugs into an electrical outlet. Senate Bill 398, “To amend the Energy Policy and Conservation Act to improve the energy-efficiency of certain appliances and equipment, and for other purposes,” but entitled the “Implementation of National Consensus Appliance Agreements Act of 2011” is a government intervention in the free market, consumer choices, and manufacturing trends, to the detriment or destruction of some, and the benefit of others.
The bill is being promoted as one that will keep American manufacturers in operation -- even though almost all major brands of small and large appliances, tools, electronics, and HVAC equipment are made outside the U.S.A. Proponents say it will save jobs, create new jobs and even improve productivity along with reducing greenhouse gas emissions while consumers can pocket huge savings, but they don’t say how, exactly.

KILL OR INTERROGATE ???
For years Obama and the left have criticized the Bush administration for their interrogation tactics. They have lamented against Guantanamo Bay and even likened those who believe we need to take a strong stance with terrorist suspects as terrorists themselves.
So what is their solution?
Under Obama, instead of capturing, detaining and questioning terrorist suspects, the CIA is just killing them with drone missile strikes. How is that any more humane?
Now, instead of learning from these dangerous suspects about potential terrorist attacks planned on the U.S., its allies and its military, we are just killing them---along with that information.
This is not progress.

They’re at it again. The ink on the 2012 “Path to Prosperity” budget proposed by Budget Chairman Paul Ryan was barely dry before AARP began using scare tactics to distort the truth about the Medicare reforms included in the plan. You or someone you know may have received a letter or email from AARP claiming that the Ryan budget was trying to lower the deficit on the backs of seniors or deny future retirees access to care. As your member of Congress, I think it’s terrible that organizations like AARP -- who clearly benefits financially from Medicare -- are scaring seniors with lies about the proposal.
Let me cut through the rhetoric. The Ryan plan would not privatize or use a voucher system to reform Social Security, Medicaid or Medicare. The proposals included in the Path to Prosperity would not even touch the Medicare or Social Security plans of anyone 55 or older. Beginning in 2022, new Medicare beneficiaries would see more coverage options – so that they can choose a plan that works best for them. Those with increased health risks or greater financial need would get more assistance. For more information on myth-versus-reality, click here. Unfortunately doing nothing is not an option. Our economic experts predict inaction would result in a 22% cut to Social Security and an exhausted Medicare fund in 7 to 19 years. I have always said that a promise made is a promise kept. The Ryan budget plan will ensure that Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security will be stable enough to support our children and grandchildren for years to come. Today, by a vote of 235 to 193, the House passed Ryan’s budget blueprint, which -- in addition to strengthening our entitlement programs -- will cut $6.2 trillion over the next ten years, and simplify the tax code. And it balances the budget simply by doing for our children and grandchildren what our parents did for us – spend at historically sustainable levels of about 20 percent of the gross domestic product – the post-World War II average. To learn more about the plan, which the Heritage Center for Data Analysis estimated will create one million new private-sector jobs, click here.

have been very disappointed with Fix News and the cast at Fix News for poopooing the birther question regarding Obama's birth certificate. Of all of the excellent research that Fix News has performed on all other issues, it is unfortunate that the big people at Fix News have done a very shoddy job at seeking the truth. For that reason, I can see why Glenn Beck will not be doing his daily show any longer. I am very disappointed at the show that Bill O'Lielly did regarding the birth certificate, which he filled with lies, mistakes, falsehoods, stretching the truth, and his disgusting comments. I can see why Fix News is going down the tubes.

CITIZEN OUTREACH SUES OVER UNION-ONLY CONTRACTS
Steve Green of the Las Vegas Sun reported on Thursday that:
A group representing nonunion contractors is suing Clark County, charging they’ve been unfairly disqualified from bidding on a $30 million project to renovate the county jail in downtown Las Vegas.
Citizen Outreach Inc., dba as Nevada Business Coalition, filed suit April 8 in Clark County District Court charging the county is requiring union participation in the bidding for the job by mandating that the successful bidder agree to be bound by the terms of a project labor agreement.
