“This is not immigration … this is mass migration.”

  • Senator Rubio joined America’s Newsroom to discuss how illegal migrants and narco-terrorists, including Foreign Terrorist Organizations like Colombia’s FARC and ELN, are taking advantage of the border crisis under the Biden Administration. 

  • Senator Rubio went into more detail in his op-ed in El American exposing Democrat hypocrisy and mishandling of the southern border crisis. 

Rubio Bills Head to President’s Desk

  • Senator Rubio’s bill to reauthorize the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom was passed by the House of Representatives and heads to President Joe Biden’s desk for his signature. 

  • Senator Rubio and Senator Mark Warner (D-VA)’s legislation to relieve domestic abuse survivors of former partners’ student loan debt is also on its way to become law.

Asking the Press Questions 

  • After reporters questioned Senator Rubio for supporting legislation to align America’s abortion practices with those of European nations, he challenged the press to find out where Democrats stand on abortion. Senator Rubio’s office then published a report noting that only three out of 55 reporters responded.  

Assessing Foreign Intelligence Threats

  • Senate Select Committee on Intelligence Vice Chairman Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Chairman Mark Warner (D-VA) released a redacted, bipartisan report of foreign intelligence threats facing our country.

  • Vice Chairman Rubio gave opening remarks at an open hearing discussing efforts to protect American innovation.  

Helping American Manufacturers

  • Senator Rubio voted to ratify the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol, which will benefit American manufacturers by opening up additional export markets.   

Resolutions and Recognitions

  • Senator Rubio and Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ) celebrated the Senate’s passage of their resolution commemorating the week of September 12, 2022 as “National Hispanic-Serving Institutions Week.” 

  • Senator Rubio and Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) applauded the Senate’s passage of their bipartisan resolution recognizing September 2022 as “National Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month.”

Rubio Joins La Voz 1440 AM

  • Senator Rubio spoke with Luis Hernández on La Voz 1440 AM about Hurricane Fiona’s impact on Puerto Rico, the border crisis, and the continued effects of inflation.    

Letters

  • Senator Rubio, Senator Rick Scott (R-FL), and U.S. Representative Jennifer González-Colón (R-PR), sent a letter to Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Administrator Deanne Criswell urging her to prioritize the recovery of Puerto Rico following Hurricane Fiona’s devastation. 

  • Senator Rubio and Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) sent a letter to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland demanding that U.S. Attorney David Weiss, who is leading the ongoing investigation into Hunter Biden, be given special counsel authority free from political interference.

  • Senator Rubio and Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS) sent a letter to U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Samantha Power demanding the agency end taxpayer-funded awards to EcoHealth. 

  • Senator Rubio and Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS) sent a letter to the CEOs of Visa, Mastercard, and American Express in response to their creation of a new subcategory for gun purchases on Americans’ credit card statements. 

  • Senator Rubio, along with bipartisan Florida members, sent a letter to Assistant Secretary of the Army Michael Connor and Commanding General and Chief of Engineers Headquarters Lieutenant General Scott Spellmon to expedite the Lake Okeechobee Watershed Restoration Project’s Chief’s Report, a critical step needed to authorize the project.  

  • Senator Rubio sent a letter to Juan Gabriel Valdés, the Chilean Ambassador to the United States, condemning President Gabriel Boric’s dismissive behavior toward Israel’s ambassador to Chile and warning of the rising rate of antisemitic incidents in Chile.

  • Senator Rubio, along with Senator Mark Warner (D-VA), Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), and Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) sent a letter to U.S. Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines to review the risk Chinese chipmaker YMTC poses to national security. 

  • Senators Rubio, Jim Risch (R-ID), and Rob Portman (R-OH) sent a letter to IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi urging continued investigation into Iran’s illegal nuclear activities. 

Legislation 

  • Senator Rubio, Senator Rick Scott (R-FL), and U.S Representative Michael Waltz (R-FL) introduced a bill to protect Florida’s waters and gulf test range our military’s Gulf Test Range. 

  • Senator Rubio and Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) introduced the Preventing Adversary Influence, Disinformation and Obscured Foreign Financing Act to prevent foreign adversaries from influencing U.S. policy. 

  • Senator Rubio and Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA), along with U.S. Representative Michael Waltz (R-FL), introduced a bill to sanction Iran for plotting to assassinate Americans. 

  • Senator Rubio and Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) introduced the bipartisan Non-Recognition of Russian Annexation of Ukrainian Territory Act to ban U.S. recognition of any Ukrainian territory annexed by Russia. 

  • Senator Rubio, along with Senators Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Deb Fischer (R-NE), and Josh Hawley (R-MO), introduced legislation to ensure political organizations receiving online contributions require a customer verification value (CVV) number.
