U.S. AUTHORITIES BUST SINALOA CARTEL IN AZ

 
U.S. authorities arrested 203 people demolishing a Mexican trafficking ring that funneled millions of dollars in drugs to Arizona for the powerful Sinaloa cartel. “Operation Crank Call” led by Tempe police and the Drug Enforcement Administration, dismantled the cell running heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana to Arizona. The operation led to 203 arrests, the seizure of more than 1,200 pounds of narcotics, $7.8 million in drug cash and 44 guns across the Phoenix valley area over a 15-month period. Those arrested include U.S. and Mexican citizens with charges ranging from simple possession to trafficking charges.

DHS WASTE AND OBAMA SMILES!!!

DHS SPENT $9.8M TO STORE $44M OF STEEL NEVER USED FOR BORDER FENCE

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) spent about $9.8 million to store $44 million in steel that it bought but did not use to build the U.S.-Mexico border fence, according to a report from the DHS Inspector General.  

Right now, CBP has in storage about 27,000 tons of “extra steel” that could be used to extend the estimated 650 miles of fencing mandated by Congress as part of the Secure Border Initiative in 2008. The report does not disclose the prime contractor who was awarded the task order to “support and facilitate the successful execution” of all fence building operations.

Currently, only 299 miles of the estimated 651 miles of fence approved by Congress has been built. According to the IG report, CBP spent $69 million more than it needed to manage the storage and purchase of steel in support of fence construction along the U.S.-Mexico border.

Clearly we have indirectly supported Al Qaeda by supporting the overthrow of Mubarak (and Ghadaffi).

Clearly, Mubarak was no threat to the US. Neither was Ghadaffi. The only legitimate war is one waged against a real enemy that threatens your country.

You may buy into the Bush Doctrine of preemptive war.

But the US military does not buy into this needless bloodshed, as evidenced by the fact that they support Ron Paul more than any other candidate, by far. They want it over. And who are we to sit here in comfort and tell them they must persist in their mired down efforts?

Senator Dean Heller Looking Out For Our  Rights

I wrote Senator Dean Heller (R-NV), referencing my fears of SB1867 having passed. My concerns specifically address Obama being able to order the arrest of those he felt to be in opposition to his views.


Senator Heller responded thus:


"Some believe this provision provides the federal government the ability to detain any U.S. citizen without trail. I disagree with this assessment; however, in order to be absolutely certain your privacy rights were protected, I supported Amendment 1456 to the National Defense Authorization Act. This Amendment, introduced by Senator Diane Feinstein (D-CA). states that nothing in Section 1031 shall be construed to affect  existing law or authorities relating to the detention of the United States citizens, lawful resident aliens of the United States, or any other person who is captured or arrested in the United States. In short, no law enforcement entity  in the United States can violate your habeas  corpus rights."


I accept Senators Heller's words and think the many political writers supporting the Conservative causes should as well.
