PERSONAL EXPERIENCE W WEED SMOKERS: Marijuana makes people dumb, is addictive

TO: Don Hank
From: Dave Hollenbeck

I dealt with Marijuana (MJ) increasingly from 1971 on.

My son and daughter asked at times--how did the kids in your high school do with MJ?
When I told them in my day (High School was from 1955--1959)  there was no MJ, , it was "Oh, come on, Dad"

Our dentist in California remarked that in College, you knew who was smoking it. Their Grade points dropped one to three points.

I went to law school two years. A Defense Attorney taught Criminal Law. He openly advocated de-criminalizing MJ.

He made statements like,"You have heard of a Bar room brawl--have you ever heard of a pot room brawl?"

I sat next to a retired crusty Admiral, no doubt out of the Navy for speaking his mind. That attorney/Instructor declared "The only reason that MJ is Illegal is because the
British West Indies Company found that workers who smoked it were lazy, and their economy suffered". The Admiral exploded,"Hell, yes, it ought to be illegal. We have
enough people who sit on their ass and expect others to support them".

I did my Thesis (Paper) to graduate with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Administration on MJ.
-- MJ is ten times more carcinogenic than tobacco.
--MJ destroys brain cells at the same rate as alcohol

From that and talking to psychiatrists, ( My son has mental health issues) if one has  hallucinatory or paranoid issues, they are exacerbated by MJ use

Many people mix and match their drugs with alcohol.

As a Highway Patrol Officer, I found that:
Drivers that use MKJ can not judge distance.  Their pupils in their eyes can not react fast enough to light change . Their Time-distance judgement is severely handicapped

Hardcore users of MJ have two very common dysfunctions:
-- They become grouchy and ill-tempered
--They have memory (Both short term and long term) problems
