their unemployment benefits. The good news is that many will then no
longer be considered as part of the employment pool and the California
unemployment rate will go down. Unemployment will not go down, just the
manipulated “rate” of unemployment. California has taken hundreds of
thousands off the rolls of job seekers—by fiat.“The California Employment
Development Department has notified more than 222,000 individuals with extension
claims in California that they will lose their federally funded extended
unemployment benefits in two weeks unless Congress and the President agree to
renew the extensions.And the budget currently being considered in Congress does
not include an extension of federal unemployment benefits, which are scheduled
to end on December 28. Congress refused to extend the benefits—the 222,000 will
no longer exist after December 28 (per government regulations).
