AG Sessions to Testify; Dems Demand Public Hearing

Democrats indicated Sunday that the decision by Attorney General Jeff Sessions to testify to Congress on Russian involvement in the November presidential election isn’t good enough — they want Tuesday’stestimony to be public. Mr. Sessions announced his intention to go before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence to address questions raised last week during former FBI Director James B. Homeland Security Secretary Suggests Amnesty for Dreamers

The Trump administration last week floated an amnesty idea for potentially 1 million illegal immigrants, looking to find permanent solutions for some of the most sympathetic cases in the long-running immigration debate. In two days of testimony to Congress, Homeland Security Secretary John F. Stan Greenberg—who has written extensively about the importance of so-called Reagan Democrats in places like Macomb County, Michigan—declared that Democrats do not just have a “white working-class problem.” Writing in the American Prospect, Greenberg notes that Democrats have lost support “with all working-class voters across the electorate, including the Rising American Electorate of minorities, unmarried women, and millennials” because of the party’s ... Read More

House Conservatives Ready to ‘Go Big’ on Tax Reform

The House Freedom Caucus wants to “go big” on a tax reform package to include welfare reforms, but likely wouldn’t include a tax on imports, or a border adjustment tax. “There is not consensus for the border adjustment tax,” Rep.
