Mark Mallett beloved writes ...

I Will Not Bow

NOT negotiable. That was essentially the reply of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego when King Nebuchadnezzar threatened them with death if they did not worship the state god. Our God “can save us”, they said, But even if he will not, know, O king, that we will not serve your god or worship the golden statue that you set up. (First reading) Today, believers are once again being forced to bow before the state god, these days under the names of “tolerance” and “diversity.” Those who don’t are being harassed, fined, or forced from their careers. [...]

NO one can fathom how wide and how deep is the love of God for humanity. Today’s first reading gives us an insight into this tenderness: A bruised reed he shall not break, and a smoldering wick he shall not quench, until he establishes justice on the earth… We are on the threshold of the Day of the Lord, that day which will bring about an era of peace and justice, establishing it to “the coastlands.” The Church Fathers remind us that the Day of the Lord is not the end of the world or even a single 24 hour period. Rather… [...]
AS you peer out at the Storm that is roiling on the horizon of humanity, you might be tempted to say, “Why me? Why now?” But I want to assure you, dear reader, that you were born for these times. As it says in the first reading today, The LORD called me from birth, from my mother’s womb he gave me my name. It is God’s will that humanity flourish, that we “go forth and multiply” and make the earth and all creation fruitful. That plan has never changed—it has merely taken on new dimensions through the Cross. You and I are continually called to bring truth, beauty and goodness wherever we are. All of us are dreaming, praying, making plans. So were the Apostles. With Jesus, a better world, a new world lay before them. But their plans were not God’s plans. That is, how God was going to achieve the fulfillment of a new world was completely different than what they thought. At the Last Supper, the course of the Apostle’s dreams, prayers, and plans took a dramatic change in course. [...]
It is hard to put into words the significance of the following writing. Because it points toward what I believe all of my writings here have been preparing readers for: an imminent new grace that is coming upon the Church. Take a few moments from your day, ask the Holy Spirit to open your heart, and absorb the clear invitation that I believe this writing is… SEVERAL years ago, I sensed the Lord saying that there was a Great Storm coming upon the earth, like a hurricane. But this Storm would not be one of mother nature, but one created by man himself: an economic, social, and political storm that would change the face of the earth. I felt the Lord ask me to write about this Storm, to prepare souls for what is coming—not only the Convergence of events, but now, a coming Blessing. This writing, so as not to be too lengthy, will footnote key themes that I’ve already expanded elsewhere. What will be new, and what I have been praying to write about now for weeks, are further insights into the coming Blessing. And this Blessing makes better sense in light of the Convergence that we are beginning to enter into now… [...]
BOTH Peter and Judas received the Body and Blood of Christ at the Last Supper. Jesus knew beforehand both men would deny Him. Both men went on to do so in one manner or another. But only one man did Satan enter: After he took the morsel, Satan entered [Judas]. (John 13:27) Thus, in today’s Gospel, Jesus says: Woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed. There is a vast difference between Peter and Judas. Peter, with all his heart wanted to love the Lord. “To whom shall I go,” he once said to Jesus. But instead of going to the Lord, Judas followed his flesh, exchanging the love of Christ for thirty pieces of silver. Peter denied Christ out of weakness; Judas betrayed Him out of willfulness. Which am I? That is the question we must each ask before we receive Holy Communion. How many today receive the Body and Blood of Christ without thinking for a moment of Whom they are receiving? How important is this? St. Paul writes: A person should examine himself, and so eat the bread and drink the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body, eats and drinks judgment on himself. (1 Cor 11:28-19) He even notes that many are “are ill and infirm, and a considerable number are dying,” because they have not received Jesus worthly! [...]

Passover 2014: Jewish People Celebrated Freedom While We Still Have It
by Debbie Schlussel

To my friends and readers: Tonight at sundown, the Jewish holiday of Passover begins. We Jews celebrate our freedom from
slavery in Egypt and also our eventual receipt of the Torah from G-d via Moses and Mount Sinai as well as our eternal land, Israel.
I will be out of blog commission […]

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

1 Corinthians 15:1, 3-4 KJV

NEVERENDING JOY !!!

Thanks - Maine Annie

The joy of Jesus ! It's a concept I hadn't seen before and through beautiful pencil drawings ...
God closes doors no man can open and God opens doors no man can close.

When friends went to a seminary in Florida this past March, they saw an artist sketching a huge work (the size of a door).
He used nothing more than a pencil on paper, worked quickly, and was finished in about 30-45 minutes. The artist prefers anonymity
and says he wants the works to speak for themselves. Look carefully and see the drawings were signed, 'Jesus Painter'
.
