Bloomberg to Spend $50M to Make 2nd Amendment Supporters 'Afraid'
image Former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg said gun control advocates need to make opponents "afraid" as he announced funding for a new group. Bloomberg said Tuesday he will donate $50 million to Every Town for Gun Safety. He described the group as a counter to the National Rifle Association.

image The city of Detroit has reached a deal with retired police officers and firefighters that would preserve current pensions but trim annual cost-of-living payments - the first major agreement with retirees in the bankruptcy case, mediators announced Tuesday.

Attorney: School's overreaction to pocket knife may destroy teen's future
image An Ohio high school student is fighting to save his dream of serving in the Army after his school found a folding pocket knife in his car and had him jailed. Jordan Wiser, a senior at Ashtabula County Technical School in Jefferson, was charged in December with illegal conveyance of a weapon – a three-inch pocket knife – onto school grounds. In addition to the knife, which he uses in EMT training, authorities also found an Airsoft gun during the search of his vehicle.
