ALERT: Yet ANOTHER Obama regime scandal that just WON'T go away: emails which were just discovered by the House Ways and Means Committee, between Lois Lerner, former IRS Director of Exempt Organizations, and her staff give us PROOF that the IRS has been covering up their operation to bust conservative organizations!

As the Wall Street Journal has reported, these newly-discovered emails "raise doubts about IRS claims that the targeting wasn't politically motivated and that low-level employees in Cincinnati masterminded the operation" -- in fact, they blow the cover off of those claims:

In a February 2011 email, Ms. Lerner advised her staff -- including then Exempt Organizations Technical Manager Michael Seto and then Rulings and Agreements director Holly Paz -- that a Tea Party matter is "very dangerous," and is something "Counsel and [Lerner adviser] Judy Kindell need to be in on." Ms. Lerner adds, "Cincy should probably NOT have these cases."

That's a different tune than the IRS sang in May when former IRS Commissioner Steven Miller said the agency's overzealous enforcement was the work of two "rogue" employees in Cincinnati. When the story broke, Ms. Lerner suggested that her office had been unaware of the pattern of targeting until she read about it in the newspaper. "So it was pretty much we started seeing information in the press that raised questions for us, and we went back and took a look," she said in May...

...It also raises questions about Ms. Lerner's intentions in a separate email exchange she had when an FEC investigator inquired about the status of the conservative group the American Future Fund. The FEC and IRS don't have the authority to share that information under section 6103 of the Internal Revenue Code. But the bigger question is why did they want to? After the FEC inquiry, the American Future Fund also got a questionnaire from the IRS.

DID YOU GET THAT? The IRS specifically targeted the applications of Tea Parties and other conservative groups, and directed that they be held up in 2011 in order to come up with an agency policy -- calling them "VERY DANGEROUS"!

BUT there's even MORE out on the continuing IRS scandal, where Tea Party and other conservative groups were targeted by the Internal Revenue Service based on their political beliefs! After Barack Hussein Obama stood before the American people and "promised" to "investigate" it -- and then calling it a "phony scandal" just a few weeks later -- the media is now reporting that the IRS is STILL targeting these patriotic groups:

"In a remarkable admission that is likely to rock the Internal Revenue Service again, testimony released Thursday by House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp reveals that an agent involved in reviewing tax exempt applications from conservative groups told a committee investigator that the agency is still targeting Tea Party groups, three months after the IRS scandal erupted...

The committee staffer then said, 'So you would treat a Tea Party group as a political advocacy case even if there was no evidence of political activity on the application. Is that right?' The agent admitted, 'Based on my current manager's direction, uh-huh.'

Camp called the renewed targeting of Tea Party groups 'outrageous.' Added a committee aide, 'In plain English, the IRS is still targeting Tea Party cases.'"

YOU READ THAT RIGHT: the IRS is continuing to target Tea Party cases without ANY justification, other than the fact that they are conservative! As Rep. Camp stated after this latest outrageous revelation, "The harassment, abuse and delays these Americans have faced over the last few years has been unwarranted, unprovoked and, at times, possibly illegal. The fact that the IRS still continues to treat the Tea Party differently and subject them to additional targeting is outrageous and it must stop immediately."

We've now all heard the reports about how the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has admitted that they deliberately harassed conservative political organizations claiming tax exempt status, such as Tea Party groups, by singling them out for additional scrutiny and investigation.

Lois Lerner, who heads the IRS division that oversees tax exempt groups, has admitted that at least 75 organizations were singled out because they included the words "tea party" or "patriot" in their applications for tax exempt status. While she acknowledged that actions were clearly violations of IRS policies, she laid the blame on "low-level workers" in the Cincinnati IRS office.

Now, the Feds have finally been outed for their anti-conservative policies of harassment -- and it's time for patriotic conservatives to start taking action to hold them accountable for it!

Many of us have suspected that we were being targeted by the Obama regime for a long time now... but they kept denying it.

In fact, Ms. Lerner's statements directly contradicted the testimony of then-IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman during a hearing of the House Ways and Means Committee in March 2012. At the time, Mr. Shulman stated unequivocally that "there is absolutely no targeting" and that "this is the kind of back and forth that happens to people" who apply for tax exempt status.

In other words, the IRS lied... to CONGRESS. Big surprise, huh?

The IRS' inappropriate and intimidating investigation tactics included probing questions about organizations' board members, officers, employees, and their families. There were also demands for extraordinary detail on employee training, vending, and advertising. Among other IRS demands, they required lists of "all issues important to your organization" with requests to "indicate your position regarding each issue."

IRS agents singled out dozens of organizations for additional reviews because they included the words "tea party" or "patriot" in their exemption applications, said Lois Lerner, who heads the IRS division that oversees tax-exempt groups. In some cases, groups were asked for lists of donors, which already violates IRS policy in most cases.

The admission by the Obama administration that the Internal Revenue Service targeted political opponents echoes some of the most shameful abuses of government power in 20th century American history. A government organization like the IRS discriminating against political organizations is an outrageous abuse of power, and the American people have every right to demand answers and accountability. Those responsible individuals should face all appropriate punishment available under current law, AND all organizations and individuals who engage in political speech and expression should be protected against this kind of discriminatory behavior in the future.

THAT'S NOT ALL! Did you hear that the IRS' targeting of conservative organizations has now been traced all the way up to the Chief Counsel of the IRS -- one of only two Obama political appointees in the entire agency?

AND did you hear that a criminal investigator for the Treasury Department's inspector general for tax administration -- the Department's "tax watchdog" -- has informed Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa, an influential Republican who serves on the Finance and Judiciary committees, that since 2006 at least four politicians or political donors (including former Tea Party-endorsed Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell) have had their personal tax records improperly accessed through a "backdoor system" in which state officials can access Americans' private tax records (in the name of "investigating"), with little oversight or accountability... including one case in which a willful violation of federal law was identified?

AND did you hear that the Justice Department has declined to prosecute ANY of the offenders, and that Treasury officials have refused to give Sen. Grassley ANY specifics on the cases, claiming that even people who improperly access tax records have an "assumption of privacy" under federal tax laws?

They think they can do WHATEVER THEY WANT... because, hey, THEY are the IRS!

Currently, IRS employees who discriminate against taxpayers may be subject to termination... but only at the "discretion" of their supervisors. But a new bill, introduced by Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH) and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), would increase the maximum penalty to a $5,000 fine, 5 years in prison, or both -- which is the same maximum penalty for a member of the president's cabinet who directs an employee to take that sort of action.

Dubbed the "Taxpayer Nondiscrimination and Protection Act" (H.R. 1950 in the House and S. 941 in the Senate), this bill would amend Title 18 of the U.S. Code to make it a crime for an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) employee to discriminate against an individual or group on the basis of their protected rights. In addition, it expressly clarifies that political speech and political expression are protected rights.

Americans of ALL political beliefs have been rightly outraged by the revelation of the IRS' efforts to target certain political organizations. The fact that this could occur with little to no corrective action against those who seek to silence their fellow citizens is unacceptable. Americans should not have to wonder if their government is actively looking to subvert them or their political views. We live in a nation where respect for differing beliefs and a vibrant political discourse play an important role in shaping our government.

P.S. The most recent IRS Commissioner has already been forced to resign in the wake of this growing scandal. As we've learned more and more, it's clear that the targeting wasn't limited to an IRS office out in Cincinnati -- as the White House originally claimed -- but that it reached all the way to IRS headquarters in Washington.
