1. The Void Filled, the Polling Goes Up. So #DefundIt
ntil the
Syrian calamity of the past week or so, we’ve been in the
August-September vacuum of news. Congress and the President, on
vacation, wait for stories to crop up that dominate the news cycle.
The
disappearance of Chandra Levy, Cindy Sheehan to the Crawford Ranch,
Monica Lewinsky in the Oval Office with a blue dress and cigar, Swift
Boat Veterans for Truth — these are stories that break in the news
vacuum of August and turn into fires.
August
started off without any such thing. The President’s polling was going
down, but slowly. Republicans were going nowhere. The only movement in
August came from a former Senator turned think tank President named Jim
DeMint. Along with a few of the men he helped get elected to Congress,
i.e. Mike Lee, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, and Marco Rubio, Senator DeMint has
been traveling the country explaining the need to defund Obamacare.
This is
the only story that has filled the political news vacuum. And as calls
to defund Obamacare have increased, so has favorable polling for
Republicans. . . . please click here for the rest of the post →
2. The Syrian Agreement: Obama Capitulates
We have
an announcement that Russia and the United States have agreed to terms
to extricate the Obama administration from the self-beclowning it has
suffered at the hands of Barack Obama and John Kerry. As was predicted,
the agreement represents a near total capitulation by the
Administration. . . . please click here for the rest of the post →
3. AFL-CIO Bosses Officially Commit To Legalizing, Unionizing Immigrants To ‘Change The Political Environment’
A few
years ago, SEIU boss Eliseo Medina made some off-hand remarks about
turning millions of the nation’s illegal immigrants into progressive
voters. Medina’s remarks sent shockwaves around the Right blogosphere.
Though it
is widely known that unions like the SEIU and the UFCW already
represent and take dues from illegal immigrants, the plan to legalize
and then unionize the millions of immigrants who are currently here in
the U.S. illegally has never really been officially adopted as–you
know–an official AFL-CIO resolution…until now.
At
the AFL-CIO’s convention in Los Angeles last week, AFL-CIO delegates
passed Resolution 4 which states that the AFL-CIO will work to pass
so-called immigration reform and, more importantly, deploy its resources
to unionize immigrants. . . . please click here for the rest of the post →
4. Liberals Are Upset at Being Exposed and Concede Defeat
Poor
Greg Sargent. If it isn’t enough that the DNC has its hand up his
posterior controlling him muppet style, he’s all sore over this post of
mine pointing out the collaborative nexus between Democrats, liberal
groups, and the supposed objective media.
Sargent is convinced — CONVINCED I tell you — that this is some sort of definitive take down of my post.
Steve
Benen, and if you are quoting Steve Benen you are probably losing,
cites a long list of conservative pundits who are on television.
See, that’s funny. Because I focused on actual supposed journalists, who are in a difference class from pundits. . . . please click here for the rest of the post →
