Bank Of England Experiencing Technical Difficulties
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 09/26/2013 10:55 -0400
When markets break, nobody cares: after all
central banks are there to protect everyone and remove all risk. But... what
happens when a central bank fail? Just
relesed by the BOE:
I COULDN'T TELL WHERE DURDEN'S TEXT ENDED AND MARILYN'S STARTED, POSSIBLY HERE...? ANYWAY, USEFUL INFO. I NOW GIVE MYSELF PERMISSION TO WORRY. A LITTLE. MAYBE. DONNews Release – Statement from the Bank of England
The Bank has been experiencing some technical IT problems today. There is no impact on critical payment and settlement services. Alternative procedures are in place where necessary. The Bank is acting to resolve these problems as soon as possible
Is the Syrian electronic army finally getting
amibitious and how long until FedLine/FedWire
are in danger?
According to Wikipedia (not the best source, I know, but on
this kind of thing they are seldom wrong):\
The National Bank of Panama (Spanish: Banco Nacional de
Panamá) is one of two Panamanian government-owned
banks. As of January 2009, it held deposits of about US$5 billion. The other
government-owned bank is Caja de Ahorros, [THIS IS IN FACT
A BANK THAT WAS MENTIONED BY A GUY IN THE SUPERMARKET AS ALSO BEING
SHUT DOWN. DON] with about US$1 billion in total
deposits. I don’t believe all of them are wrong and I’m not looking for
a
way to sensationalize anything. Perhaps your Panamanian friend should
look
a little further before making such assumptions??? [I THINK THIS IS MARILYN'S TEXT NOW BUT DON'T KNOW WHO THIS PANAMANIAN FRIEND IS OR WHAT ASSUMPTIONS ARE MEANT. DON] MB
The fact that it is owned by the Panama government is what
gives the story some credence. [NOT SURE WHAT STORY. DON] Also:
HSBC Bank (Panama) S.A. is a subsidiary of HSBC
Holdings plc head-quartered in Panama City, Panama. The
bank provides Personal banking, Corporate banking and
Treasury
services to Panama.
This is significant because this story has also come

I do not believe all of them are wrong... From Banco
