Senators Ted Cruz (R–TX) and Mike Lee (R–UT) have introduced their Defund Obamacare Act (S. 1292). Representative Tom Graves (R–GA) introduced a similar measure in the House as H.R. 2682.
Senators Rand Paul and Marco Rubio are also championing “Defund ObamaCare” efforts. There are many other elected officials who are listening to their constituents’ deep concern about going even one step further toward implementing this disastrous law – but not nearly enough yet!

By September 30, Congress must pass a Continuing Resolution (CR) to keep the government funded through the next fiscal year.

Since Barack Obama took office, the
federal government has operated without a real “budget” – the nation
has been functioning under the fiscal authority of a series of CR’s with
their built-in increases and mind-boggling complexity.
This type of fiscal management has
led to dramatic political brinksmanship and a general sense of
instability in our system of governance. And it has been exploited by
liberal “progressives” who use such occasions to hold the nation hostage
to their agenda.
The last time a CR crisis took place, a stalemate ensued – and sequestration was the “compromise.” The Democrats and the Obama administration blamed conservatives for the forced cuts sequestration mandated, even though the White House proposed the concept of sequestration to force both parties to come up with a bi-partisan budget!
Barack Obama signed “sequestration” into law! Yet once it took effect, the administration blamed conservatives for what were alleged to be “devastating consequences.”
You remember the administration’s
dire warnings: According to the progressive spin, sequestration would
cause the functionality of nearly everything in our nation to cease!
The sky was falling. The end was at hand!

Well, it didn’t quite work out according to their predictions. The President did cancel White House tours. But he somehow managed to come up with hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to spend on lavish vacations and extravagant White House “events” (read, parties).
Of course, some Americans did
experience a degree of hardship due to sudden changes in funding. I
believe sequestration was designed to be a blunt instrument with which
to intimidate those who are resisting the Obama agenda.
The corollary to the infamous Obama mantra “Never let a good crisis go to waste” has become “If you lack a good crisis to exploit, create one!”
++We are just 45 days away from another “doomsday.”
The next six weeks will see intense battles and negotiations over the upcoming Continuing Resolution. Congress is faced with an excruciatingly difficult decision: Will they fund ObamaCare in the next CR or not?
Of course, President Obama has promised to veto any CR that does not include funding for his “crowning achievement.” That being the case, without a CR the government will be forced to shut down until another funding “compromise” is reached.
++Congress must be forced to represent the will of the American People!
According to a recent Heritage Action for America poll, it appears Congress would be well justified to defund ObamaCare…
The poll revealed that over 60
percent of Americans would support a temporary shutdown of the
government non-essential services if it meant the implementation of
ObamaCare would be delayed!
Fifty-seven percent of independent voters want ObamaCare defunded!
The fact is, the implementation of ObamaCare will have far worse long-term effects on our nation than a temporary shutdown of our government’s non-essential services.
This is why it is urgent that we deliver a major round of petitions to Congress next month calling on them to “Delay, Defund, and Defeat ObamaCare” in any and every way possible!
We need EVERY signature possible on this petition. I am calling for us to unite and amass at least 100,000 signatures.
Let’s defeat this unconstitutional and immoral law!
