OBAMA CUTS BORDER SECURITY SPENDING BY HALF
The Obama administration has foolishly halved spending on border fencing, infrastructure, and technology – leaving 1,300 miles of the U.S.-Mexico border unfenced and unprotected. In 2008, according to a Government Accountability Office report, the Bush administration spent more than $1.3 billion on defending the United States from illegal drug- and human-trafficking and securing our border against illegal immigration. In 2011, Obama had reduced the border security spending to roughly half - $573 million while also nixing the virtual border fence initiative.
