Sheriff Mark Lamb and Family Grieve:
Sheriff Mark Lamb of Pinal County, Arizona and his truly incredible and supportive wife, Janel, just experienced the horror of horrors any person could meet especially a parent. Sheriff Lamb and Janel lost their son, Cooper Lamb, along with their one-year old granddaughter in a crash in Gilbert, Arizona. Cooper and his daughter were passengers in the vehicle struck by another. The mother of the baby was driving and remains in critical condition. The driver of the other vehicle was arrested for suspicion of impaired driving.
Sheriff Lamb has been a guest on ARIZONA TODAY, and we discussed only a week ago his coming back on to introduce his wife so we may discuss her new book “The Sheriff’s Wife.” I enjoyed a similar conversation with Mrs. Lamb, and afterwards shared my excitement with her just knowing how the public would fall in love with her after meeting and listening to her during our conversation on the show. Both the Sheriff and Janel are unassuming, not at all pretentious, believe in being “servant leaders.” They sincerely and heart warningly love America, and their words truly come from their hearts not mere talking points. The positive emails after Sheriff Lamb’s appearance on ARIZONA TODAY were sincerely nice and truly supportive of this professional, elected official, down-to-earth and even funny gentleman. I sent them along to him personally in a follow-up email. He was sincerely touched accepting and even laughed at one who asked if Sheriff Lamb might be available – even if only on loan, to be the Sheriff in their area.
