At this particular time we are faced with threats of war as well as internal strife. Our President, Donald J Trump, is capable, strong and has our best interests foremost in his mind. Not only must he deal with foreign matters, but with matters concerning political weaknesses of others.

Due to those threats we must be in prayer for our well being as well as for the well being and strength needed by our President and his Cabinet,

This sermon is send so as to allow those who choose to do so to call on Him by the name, or names, which best suits the needs expressed.

Pastor Lee S Gliddon Jr

Call on HIM by NAME/Trait
When someone wants to talk with you and seeks to gain your attention would a simple, calling out of, ‘hey you’ get your immediate attention? Would that description, ‘hey you’, suffice or would you want to know that it is you being asked to hear you, not just someone that responds to ‘hey you?’
When you are asking something of someone wouldn’t you feel more positive of getting a reply if you used that person’s name? In calling out to a policeman possibly using the name of his profession may get immediate response. Officer, I need help.
When Jesus Christ taught us The Lord’s Prayer, you notice that He began with, “Our Father.” (Matthew 6:9)  In this sermon I will endeavor to teach the ‘trait’ that may gain more immediate response to your prayers.
Well, God is undoubtedly the Father of His children. In that fact we rely on Jesus’ description. Just as the word Father will adequately tell any that hear that you are calling on God, not just any imagined entity. There are many names that bespeak God and His divinity as well as His traits.
I wish to tell you of some of the many names that God was and is called upon for specific needs. I hope that by telling you this lesson, you will realize that you are willing to learn to address your Creator in such a manner as to be pleasing to Him. I will not be so presumptuous as to tell you how to pray but I will tell you how I pray and, without a doubt, I get results.
Let me begin:
(Bible references are King James Version)
·        Abba                         Father. (Mark 14:36)
·        Pater                         The Lord Our Father. (Ecclesiastes 12:1)
·        Yahweh                      God’s formal name. (Genesis 21:33)
·        Jehovah                     God’s personal name. (Psalm 83:18)
·        Adonoi                      The Lord Our Master (Malachi 1:6)
·        El                              God Almighty (Genesis 14:19. 17:1)
·        Elohim                       Father, Son and Holy Spirit (plural) (2 Samuel 7:26)
·        El Elyon                     Lord, Possessor of heaven and earth. ( Genesis 14:22)
·        El Olam                     The secret name of God. (Psalm 25:14)
·        El Shaddai                 The Lord who supplies my every need. (Psalm 78:20)
·        El Gibbor                  Lord of Strength, Our Divine Rock. (Deuteronomy 32:4)
·        Jehovah Roi               The Lord my Shepherd (Psalm 23:1) Jesus is Jehovah Roi.
·        Jehovah Jireh The Lord my supplier of life basic needs. (Genesis 22:14)
·        Jehovah Shalom         The Lord Our Peace ( Judges 6:24)
·        Jehovah Rophe          The Lord Our Healer, Divine Physician. (Exodus 15:26)
·        Jehovah Tsidkenu      The Lord Our Righteousness, Lord who forgives our sin. (Jeremiah 23:6)
·        Jehovah Nissi            The Lord my Banner. Lord who gives courage to face evil. ( Exodus 17:15)
·        Jehovah Shammah     Our Lord Who comforts us in times of loneliness. (Ezekiel 48:35)
·        Jehovah Mekaddishkhem       Our Lord Who sanctifies us. (Exodus 31:13)
Jehovah Melek          God Who establishes Law. (Deuteronomy 33:12)
These are but a few of the names of God and when praying your purpose is to not just get what you are asking for but to PLEASE Him. Use His awesome powers to obtain fulfillment and strength for everything supplication. Be specific and be sure to thank Him for the many Blessings He bestows on you.
Now, I will endeavor to give you pronunciation assistance as well as applications in using His Holy names.
Abba, El, El Olam and Pater as well as Jehovah need no pronunciation assistance. Abba is simply saying Father. In reading Matthew 23:9 you will learn that Jesus taught, “And don’t address anyone here on earth as ‘Father,’ for only God in heaven is your spiritual Father.”
  • Yahweh: Yah wey . This is like saying William is addressing a man in lieu of the more familiar name of Bill.
  • Adonoi:  Ad O noy.  The plural name of God. The Holy Trinity. God the Father, Jesus Christ (Son), and The Holy Spirit.
  • El Elyon: El Eli on. God most high. I am no wonder Satan wants to usurp the power and authority of our Heavenly Father.
  • El Olam: God’s secret name. God is and has been available to His people throughout the ages but no human mind can really comprehend His awesome power.
  • El Shaddai: El Sha die. Not only is God strong but He delivers our food, water and nourishes us as a mother would feed a child from her breast.
  • El Gibbor: El Gi bor. In battle a Divine Warrior. God will supply with strength unless we persist on trusting in ourselves alone. He is our Rock.
  • Jehovah Roi: Je ho vah Roy. The Lord is my Shepherd. His name reflecting His care of and for us.
  • Jehovah Jireh: Je ho vah Je reh. The Lord who provides the basics of my life. The very air I breathe.
  • Jehovah Shalom: Je ho vah Sha lom. God who grants peace. Just as Psalm 23 says, “He leadeth me to still waters,” at times of unrest, call Him for calm.
  • Jehovah Rophe: Je ho vah Ro fe.  God heals through preventative medicines and truly heals our souls. He may provider a miracle or simply heal our spirit, or both.
  • Jehovah Tsidkenu: Je ho vah Sit kin u. God is all righteous yet He is forgiving. It is He alone that will forgive our sins but we must repent.
  • Jehovah Mekaddishkhem: Je ho vah Me kad dish hem. God blesses His people and anoints His chosen shepherds. He sanctifies those who truly do His will.
  • Je ho vah Sham ma.  The Lord who is ever with us. Just as a shepherd is with his flock, God is always with us. We are never alone and like a shepherd, He protects His flock.
  • Jehovah Melek: Je ho vah Me lek. God is God. He is supreme and rules over everything. Though He is a loving God, He is to be obeyed. We must be obedient to His every wish and command.
  • Abba/Pater: The Father of us all. A term of likeness to saying, “Daddy.” He invites us into a persona relationship as a child of His own.
  • El : God Most High. He is God and He alone is God. There is no other.
  • El Olam: God is everlasting. He is infinite with no beginning and no end. Although He is always available we are to pray to Him almost in secret. It is not the seemingly pious that make a ‘show’ of praying, it is the penitent sinner who prays to God in a truly heartfelt manner.
So, Jesus Christ, in teaching us the Lord’s Prayer, began with, “Our Father Who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name,”  He thereby taught His followers to forever exalt His Father’s names.
(Closing prayer)
Abba, as our Father we praise you. We call on You as Yahweh, and bow before Thee.

Lord, as our Jehovah Tsidkenu, a most righteous God to forgive us our sins so that we may come before you clothed in garment that are white and befitting of You.

As El Shaddai we thank you for your gifts of this day; our food, clothing and very air that we breathe. You are our El Gibbor, our strength, our Divine Rock. And we ask that you give us the strength to overcome evil.

Heavenly Father, Jehovah Sabaoth, Lord of the angels we ask that you send your angels to protect our leaders, our military, your believers throughout the world and our fellow Americans that serve to protect our freedoms and safety. Send your angels to protect our loved ones, both family as well as friends.

Lord, you are Our Jehovah Rophe, our Divine Physician, Our Healer. Please heal us in body as well as in spirit. Be with our family and friends we may be suffering illnesses. Heal them in body and in spirit. It is Your will to be done, please reveal anything you wish for us to do to further Your will.

As our Jehovah Nissi we ask that you preserve our souls and protect us from the evils that may lay ahead,
In Jesus name we pray, who is One with You and the Holy Spirit, One God forever and ever,
Amen, amen and amen.
