SERMON - THIS WORLD WAS CREATED FOR MAN

This World

Was Created

For MAN

 

 

We are constantly hearing of lawsuits and judges granting environmental groups favorable rulings to stop the labors of man and subject him to lesser beings. By this I refer you to thoughts of , Spotted Owls; The Snail Darter (fish): projects protecting fish habitats; tree felling (logging) and similar obstructions that prevent man’s ability to work, farm and simply live a more productive life.

 

Genesis 1:  ²⁶ Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

 

God clearly sets forth His order of things in this world. In creating man in, “in our image, in our likeness,” He set forth the fact that we look as He looks and we are like Him. This establishes that our ability to reason is sufficient for us to  , “rule over…fish…birds…livestock…all wild animals…and creatures.”

 

The environmentalists are in defiance of God’s Word as they seek to grant rights to fish, birds, livestock, wild animals and other creatures as well as trees and plant life.

 

Genesis 1: ²⁸ God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

 

God specifically told Adam and Eve that they were to “rule over the fish…birds and every living creature. “

 

How does any man dare to set himself as more knowledgeable that God and rule in favor of fish, birds, trees and anything that is not possessed with the power of reason?

 

Psalm 22: ²⁸ for dominion belongs to the LORD and he rules over the nations.

 

This Scripture is most clear in its interpretation as it sets forth the Lord as the ultimate ruler of all nations. With this established, how do courts dare to rule in favor of fish, birds, trees or any living creature as man having to watch as his very livelihood is threatened and in many cases taken away?

 

We are witnessing our courts seeking to set themselves as superior to God. We are seeing organizations seeking to openly defy God’s order of things and set man as subject to the very living things God established man as having dominion over!

 

Genesis 2:  ¹⁹ Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. ²⁰ So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals.

 

God not only gave dominion over animals and plants, but watched as names were given to each. It is not too difficult to understand why God would be angry at the attempts of some to place animals and plants above man by denying proper use of resources by man to live a life of productiveness and happiness.

 

God has given man the knowledge to effect protective measures to see to the continuation of every animal He created. If man finds that a particular species is endangered he has the power to learn of the required environment necessary to allow that species to live and to relocate that species thereby allowing continued existence.

 

Genesis 9: ¹ Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth. ² The fear and dread of you will fall on all the beasts of the earth, and on all the birds in the sky, on every creature that moves along the ground, and on all the fish in the sea; they are given into your hands. ³ Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.

 

For yet a third time God sets forth His statement of man being the ones that had control over all animal and plant life. Whether man used any as food was allowed by God as He had instilled in His children the knowledge to be responsible and see to the continuation of His creation.

 

Maybe you can understand why I speak out in righteous anger at the Court that has ruled in favor of a small fish and used this small fish to stop water flow required for irrigation in California . This same type of ruling was used in Oregon to disrupt water flow. In Washington state environmentalists used a bird; the Spotted Owl to stop logging that was managed and provided jobs allowing man to earn.

 

Each of us, as God’s children, has a responsibility to speak out against tyrannical Courts that seek to defy God’s Word and place animal and plant life above man! With there being an environmental movement to allow trees to actually sue man for alleged wrongs is both insane as well as inane but this is the battle we fight!

 

I realize that there are those amongst you that see this sermon as more political that God’s desired Gospel. To any that harbor this thought I say, every sermon I deliver is of God. It is He that plants the seed of the words I deliver and it is by the guidance of the Holy Spirit that I am able to do so. I seek not to set forth my personal philosophy but to set forth God’s Ward as He directs.

 

With that in mind I ask that each of you search your souls and do whatever you can do to serve God as you go about your day. It is His world wherein we live and He gave stewardship of this world to man.

Almighty God, Creator and King of all, we come to You with praises and we ask that we be allowed to worship You and give You our love.  You are our God and there is none above You and only servants that serve You in Your Kingdom. Angels that serve You, saints that are in Your presence and Your children here on earth are at Your call. You are all there is in our lives and everything else is to return to dust and has little matter.

 

Father, we seek Your direction as we battle those that would deny Your Word and defy Your intents. Some have foolishly set themselves up as being more knowledgeable than You in earthly matters and we need You to set them straight. You have the power to accomplish this and we trust in You knowing You will accomplish Your goals in a manner You choose. We only ask that You accomplish corrections of errant men at a time that is within our understanding. Father, may we say…and pray…The quicker the better.

 

Lord, as we pray we ask for Your protection of our brothers and sisters throughout this world, for protection of our sons and daughters  in military service, for our police and those who protect our national security. Protect them O Lord as You shower blessings upon them.

 

Lord, we ask that You open the eyes of our political leaders and judges and enlighten them as You deem fit. Father, we trust in You and know. With confidence, that You will hear our prayers.

 

We pray these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who is One with You and the Holy Spirit, One God forever and ever,
