MUTH’S TRUTHS
--> If someone can lawfully come into the U.S. from Liberia and
bring the Ebola virus with them, can you imagine what someone could bring into
our country illegally through our porous borders?
--> That cop-killer Mumia
Abu-Jamal hasn’t been executed for his crime is itself a crime. That he’s been selected by Goddard College
president Bob Kenny to give the
commencement address at his alma mater in Vermont via recorded video is beyond
outrageous. Water-boarding shouldn’t be
out of the question in this case.
--> The left incessantly whines that the rich are getting richer
and the poor are getting poorer while the middle class is being wiped out. Alas, a new study by the Senate Budget
Committee reveals that it’s the Obama administration’s policies that are
responsible for the collapse of the middle class! Click
here to read it and weep.
--> As if there isn’t enough to be disgusted with how the NFL is
ruining football, a Kansas City Chiefs player was penalized Monday night for
dropping to his knees in prayer in the end zone after intercepting a pass and
running it back for a touchdown. Idiocy.
--> “Redskins” is not a slur to Indians. As the name of a football team, it is a term
of respect and admiration. Anyone who
thinks otherwise should be scalped.
--> Democrat congressional candidate Erin Bilbray-without-the-Kohn wrote in an email on Thursday
afternoon: “Because of you, we surpassed our goal for the FEC deadline and sent
a clear message that Nevadans are ready for change this November – thank you!”
Except…no one knows exactly what the goal was. The Bilbray-without-the-Kohn campaign never
tells its supporters what the fundraising goal is BEFORE the deadline. We’re just supposed to trust the
campaign. And, thankfully, many foolish Democrats
are doing just that!
--> The good folks over at the Nevada Policy Research Institute
(NPRI) have released their 2014 “Piglet Book,” a compilation of how government
misuses and misspends our tax dollars. Click
here to read more.
--> Nevada Secretary of State Ross Miller had another ethics complaint filed against him, this
time for putting his name and mug on the home page of a government website
where military service personnel go to vote in the general election. Since
Miller himself is a candidate in the November 4 election – he’s running for
attorney general – this is totally inappropriate use of his official position
as secretary of state.
--> Funny development: After initially ridiculing the complaint
as “silly” and an election year “stunt,” Miller’s office removed the offending
name and photo from the website the very next day. Guess it wasn’t such a “silly stunt” after
all.
--> And speaking of Miller, Citizen Outreach’s appeal to the
Nevada Supreme Court of Miller’s lawsuit against us for a pair of issue advocacy
mailers we did way back in 2010 is scheduled for oral arguments in Carson City
on Monday, November 3rd. We’re
hopeful that the court ultimately rules in favor of free speech over Miller’s re-writing
of the definition of “express advocacy.”
--> Republicans who were outraged by the Democrats’ cowardly
hike-and-seek tactic in 2008, whereby they refused to allow state Senate
candidates Allison Copening and Shirley Breeden to debate their opponents
or be subjected to media interviews, should be equally outraged by the GOP’s
embrace of the exact same tactic for state Senate candidates Becky Harris and Patricia Farley this year.
If the two continue on this path – as well as Senate
Minority Leader Moderate Mike Roberson,
who similarly is ducking debates and media interviews – then none of them
deserve election and Republicans sure as shoot don’t deserve the majority in
the Senate. Running scared is no better
than Obama’s strategy of leading from behind.
--> Big day on Thursday for Clark County sheriff candidate Joe Lombardo. First he was endorsed by a former challenger
in the race, Ted Moody. Then he landed the endorsement of the Las
Vegas Review-Journal, thanks at least in part to the fact that his opponent, Larry Burns, is the candidate of the
police union.
Who am I to argue with Moody or the RJ? Put me down for Lombardo, too.
--> Why are taxpayers paying for the PR services of Mitch Fox on behalf of North Las Vegas
City Councilman Isaac Barron who
owns the home where 52 dogs were killed in a fire a few days ago?
That incident has nothing whatsoever to do with the
councilman’s duties as a councilman. That
incident has to do with the councilman’s duties as a private landlord. Yet all media inquiries of Barron into the
incident are required to go through Fox, and Fox has been issuing statements and
press releases on the matter on behalf of the councilman. That’s just not right.
--> Some of you conservatives have been there for quite some time. Other conservatives aren’t quite there yet. (Let’s call them “Dagny Taggart Conservatives.”) But I’ve finally seen the light and am
joining the boycott. I will no longer
vote for a bad Republican simply because the Democrat is worse. So don’t be shocked by some of my general election
endorsements coming out over the next few weeks.
FAMOUS LAST WORDS

money well they would make voluntary contributions to gov.not charities. They
don't.” - @GroverNorquist
