CONSERVATIVES - MAKE YOUR POSITION KNOWN

Fellow Conservatives:

Yesterday, the chairman of the Republican National Committee gave a speech outlining eleven principles that the Republican Party stands for.

Having failed to put forward an agenda this year, the party establishment is under pressure to do something more than just run against President Obama.

While the RNC speech did not include a specific policy agenda, it did highlight a number of basic conservative goals such as following the Constitution, balancing the budget, empowering patients, and securing our nation's borders.

Unfortunately, Republican leaders in Washington have not been following these principles and have no plans to fight for them in the future.

Let's face it – the RNC chairman was doing his best to put lipstick on a pig.

John Boehner and Mitch McConnell
Sadly, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) have busted the budget, raised taxes, increased the debt limit, funded Obamacare, and promoted amnesty. In fact, Speaker Boehner re-committed this past week to passing amnesty after the election!

Even worse, their agenda if Republicans win back the Senate includes cutting deals with Democrats, not pushing bold reforms that enact conservative principles.

How much confidence do you have that the current Republican leadership led by John Boehner and Mitch McConnell will fight for conservative principles?

1 = No Confidence, 10 = Complete Confidence

HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE

Instead of surrendering on every issue, Republicans should follow Ronald Reagan's advice by "raising a banner of no pale pastels, but bold colors which make it unmistakably clear where we stand on all of the issues troubling the people.”

RINOSenator Mitch McConnell and every Senate Republicans should pledge to pass the full repeal of Obamacare with 51 votes using the budget "reconciliation" rules, and to adopt a budget that balances in 10 years or less without raising taxes.

They should also commit to defund the president's executive amnesty and use the debt limit to cut spending, reform entitlement programs, and pass a Balanced Budget Amendment.

I recently wrote a column for USA Today outlining specific policies that Republicans should commit to before election.

This kind of bold leadership will only happen if we elect true conservatives and hold these politicians accountable.

If they don't see the light, we need to make them feel the heat.

It's nice that the RNC chairman decided to outline some general conservative principles 30 days before the election, but we expect Republicans to actually fight for those principles once they're elected.

Republicans will get their first chance to show Americans how serious they are about fighting for our values in the lame duck session.

Your support for SCF not only helps elect strong conservatives, it also helps us advocate for conservative policies after the election.

Thank you for standing strong for freedom and for working so hard to advance the reforms we need to restore America's greatness.

Sincerely,
