And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they
were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy,
which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

The Robertson family being part of the Church of Christ denomination believe and teach [as shown below], baptism is a "must be done" requirement for salvation, and "without water baptism you are not saved." They also teach and believe in Amillennialism, [see definition below]. As apposed to us who believe in pre-millennialism, (i.e. Revelation 20: 1-7) and the pre-tribulation rapture. They (Church of Christ) do not teach or believe in the rapture (harpazo) of the body of Christ, (i.e. 1 Thessalonians 4: 14-18, 1 Corinthians 15: 51-58). What the leader of the Robertson family said about homosexuality was correct, however, the words he chose to use were rude and crude. We as Christians should be more concerned with his beliefs regarding salvation than his lack of non-refined social graces. THAT IS WHAT I AM TAKING A STAND AGAINST. Is Duck Dynasty the best we as Christians can do to get our message across regarding "sound biblical doctrine?" God Forbid! I hope not! Is the Church of Christ and its messengers speaking and teaching sound biblical doctrine? Please read below.

why I wrote

Amillennialism
(Latin: a-
"no" + millennialism)
is a view in
Christian end-times theology
named for its
rejection of
the theory
that
Jesus Christ
will
have a
thousand-year-long,
physical reign
on the earth.
This is in
opposition to
premillennial
and some postmillennial
interpretations
of chapter 20 of
the Book of Revelation.
In
contrast,
the
amillennial
view holds
that the
thousand years
mentioned in
Revelation 20
is a symbolic
number, not a
literal
description;
that the
millennium has
already begun
and is
identical with
the current church age,
(or more
rarely, that
it ended with
the destruction of
Jerusalem
in AD 70 — see
Preterism).
Amillennialism
holds that
while Christ's
reign during
the millennium
is spiritual
in nature, at
the end of the
church age, Christ
will return
in final judgment
and establish
a permanent
physical
reign.
Many
proponents
dislike the
name
Amillennialism
because it
emphasizes
their
differences
with
premillennialism
rather than
their beliefs
about the
millennium,
and although
they prefer
alternate
terms such as
nunc-millennialism
(that is,
now-millennialism)
or realized
millennialism,
the acceptance
and widespread
usage of the
alternate
names has been
limited.[1]

BACKGROUND
AND FORMATION
According
to Mead's
Handbook of
Denominations
(11th Ed.)
on page 103,
the Christian
Church had its
beginnings in
the early
1800's:
"Thomas
Campbell
(1763-1854)
was a Scottish
Presbyterian
who left his
church in
Ireland to
come to
western
Pennsylvania
in 1807.
Campbell was
convinced that
the historical
creeds and
confessions of
the church
were a source
of Christian
division
rather than
union.......his
view led to a
censure from
the
Presbyterians
in 1809...."
Mead's
continues on
p104,
"Campbell's
son, Alexander
(1788-1866),
was less
scholarly than
his father,
but more
dynamic and
consistent in
his
application
for his
father's
principles.
He convinced
Thomas (his
father) that
infant baptism
was not
Christian, and
in 1812 all of
the Campbell's
were immersed
by a local
Baptist
minister.
However, even
the Baptists
were not
Biblical
enough for the
Campbell's...."
So the Campbell's
left the
Baptists and
later joined
with Barton
Stone and
Walter Scott
and formed
what they
called the 'Restoration
Movement',
i.e., they
were
'restoring'
the Church
back to its
original
pattern,
since...in
their
estimation...every
body else was
wrong. Mead's
lists the
founding date
of the
Christian
Church, also
called
"Disciples of
Christ", as
1832. Based
upon the
premise of
'having no
creed but the
Bible', the
Christian
Church became
'one of
the first
independent
denominations
to be born in
the United
States.'
(Mead, p104)
In the
year 1906
some broke
away over the
issue of
musical
instruments in
worship
services and
called
themselves 'CHURCHES
OF CHRIST'.
Churches of
Christ
believed
musical
instruments
should not be
used in
Worship
services, but
the Christian
Church
believes
musical
instruments in
worship
services are
indeed
Biblical. In
1968, the
Christian
Church
(Disciples of
Christ)
organized
nationally and
had its
headquarters
based in
Dallas, Texas.
Brief
Summary of
Distinguishing
Beliefs
Independent
Christian
Churches and
Churches of
Christ have
held to
historic,
orthodox views
on the Bible,
God, the
Trinity, and
Jesus, but the
Disciples of
Christ group
has become
very liberal
and most do
not even
believe in
hell.
The
distinguishing
doctrine or
teaching of
the Christian
Church and
Churches of
Christ is that
of WATER
BAPTISM.
In his
booklet, Christian
Baptism, p531,
Campbell
states the
Prima Dona
Doctrine of
The
Restoration
Movement and
the Christian
Church and
Churches of
Christ:
"Remission
of sins cannot
be enjoyed by
any person
before
immersion."
The
Christian
Church and
Churches of
Christ believe
that water
baptism is
essential
to salvation
and getting to
Heaven.
Founder
Alexander
Campbell wrote
in his THE
HARBINGER
EXTRA
in this
article "REMISSION
OF SINS",
unequivocally,
"Immersion
is the
converting
act.......immersion
and
regeneration
are two Bible
names for the
same
act"...
In the Campbell-Rice
Debate on
page 556, it
states,
"Millions of
ages to come,
there will be
millions in
paradise who
will be
delighted to
revert to
(recall and
point to) some
river, pool,
or fountain,
in which they
put on Christ
and vowed
eternal
allegiance to
Him."
F.E. Mayer
in his
Comprehensive
of Handbook THE
RELIGIOUS
BODIES OF
AMERICA on
page 384
quotes
CHRISTIAN
BAPTISM by
F.D. Kershner
(Commission on
Christian
Union of the
Disciples of
Christ):
"Baptism
by immersion
is an act of
obedience to
Christ, and as
such is
necessary for
the remission
of sins and
salvation."
Mayer
cites
Christian
Church writer
S. J. Corey on
page 383 of RELIGIOUS
BODIES IN
AMERICA,
"Baptism
is for the
remission of
sins; together
with faith and
repentance it
constitutes
the condition
upon which God
will grant
remission (or
regeneration),
the gift of
the Holy
Spirit, and
eternal life."
(Census
II,
page 542 by S.
J. Corey)
He
continues,
"According to
most
Disciples,
Baptism is one
of the three
indispensable
acts which
determine one
membership in
the one holy
catholic
Church.
Baptism by
immersion is
an act of
obedience to
Christ, and as
such it is
necessary for
the remission
of sins and
salvation."
(Religious
Bodies of
America,
F. E. Mayer,
page 384)
Mayer
quotes Walter
Scott on page
377 as Scott
gives the 5
steps to being
saved and
receiving
Eternal Life:
1. Hearing
and accepting
the evidence
for Christ's Messiah
ship;
2.
Repentance of
personal and
actual sin;
3.
submission to
Baptism as the
condition for:
4. God's
Liberation
from the
guilt,
penalty, and
dominion of
sin and for:
5. God's
bestowal of
the Holy
Spirit and
eternal life.
Here we
see clearly
Scott's
portrayal the
Christian
Church
teaching that
the Holy
Spirit and
Eternal Life
is received
only after
one's
submission to
Baptism.
The LaPorte
Church of
Christ s
directed by
Pastor Peter
J. Peters, a
false prophet.
As with all
Church of
Christ
followers,
Peters
espouses a
false
salvation by
water baptism,
forsaking of
sinful
lifestyle,
mandatory
confession of
Christ to
others, et
cetera. In
sharp
contrast, the
Bible teaches
that a man's
faith is
COUNTED for
righteousness
(Romans 4:5).
Salvation is
solely by
faith in the
Lord. We are
saved by
Christ's
righteousness
(2nd
Corinthians
5:21; Matthew
6:33; Romans
10:3-4). And a
good thing,
for we have no
self-righteousness
to offer God
(Isaiah 64:6).
Acts 10:43
says that our
sins are
forgiven by
simple faith
in Jesus, the
Christ, the
Son of God.
Jesus
proclaimed
that He is the
way, the truth
and the life
(John 14:6).
Peters is a
heretic! COC
is straight
out of the
pits of Hell.
The
Christian
Church and
Churches of
Christ do not
believe in the
unconditional
Security of
the Believer
and reject
'Once Saved,
Always Saved'
teaching.
They
believe
salvation can
be lost. The
Christian
Church
believes we
are saved by
grace, BUT we
work and
remain
faithful to
the Lord in
order to
finally make
it to heaven
some
day. Otherwise
one can
'backslide'
and be lost
and end up in
hell after
trusting
Christ and
being
baptized. However,
if one loses
salvation and
comes back to
Christ, he
amazingly does
not have to be
baptized
again.
Christian
Churches and
Churches of
Christ do not
believe one
can have
assurance and
KNOW he is
going to
heaven.
Evangelist
Joe Boyd, in a
conversation
with a
Christian
Church worker,
was told that
only way he
could have his
sins washed
away would be
to be
baptized.
Then he was
also told that
after baptism
he would have
to work in
order to make
to heaven, and
that he could
not be sure of
heaven until
the end of his
life. "In
other words,
commented
Brother Boyd,
"you're
telling me
that the only
way that I
could ever be
SURE of
getting to
heaven would
be for you to
baptize me and
then DROWN
me in the
baptistery!
Is that
right? The
Christian
Church worker
had no
reply. To
have complete
assurance you
were going to
heaven in the
Christian
Church would
be only
possible if
you drowned
in the Baptistery.
A
note from
Kevin
Kellett: We may
know we
have eternal
life
(Heaven) through
Jesus Christ
and His
finished work
at Calvary.
See: 1
John 5: 13 et
al.
The
Christian
Church and The
Churches of
Christ and the
Doctrine of
the Trinity
Mayer
in his RELIGIOUS
BODIES IN
AMERICA
states on page
381,
"There
seems to be no
doubt that not
a few
Disciples have
repudiated not
only the term
Trinity, but
also the
doctrine.....The
Disciples'
theology, when
its central
motif of the
'good life' is
taken
seriously, has
no interest in
the deity of
Christ and
considers the
Trinity a
metaphysical
abstraction.
It is more
than passing
strange that
among their
voluminous
writings the
Disciples can
point to no
book dealing
with this
doctrine,
except
(Barton)
Stone's early
writings
against it."
The
Christian
Churches and
Churches of
Christ use and
promote the
use of the
NEWER BIBLE
VERSIONS and
reject the
idea of the
King James
Bible being
superior to
the other
newer
versions.
Most any
Bible version
can be found
in the
Christian
Churches.
Christian
Churches and
Communion (the
Lord's Supper)
Christian
Churches
practice
communion (the
Lord's Supper)
every week on
Sunday, not as
a sacrament,
but as a
memorial. (Census
II,
page 542, by
S. J. Corey)
In the past,
many Disciples
practice using
one common cup
at the
communion
service.
Christian
Church and
Churches of
Christ believe
that women can
be pastors of
Churches.
Verses
such as 2
Timothy 2:12
and 1 Timothy
3:2 are held
by many
Protestant
Bodies to
teach that God
forbids women
from being
pastors of
Churches and
teaching adult
men from the
Pulpit. The
Christian
Church and
Churches of
Christ,
however, do
not believe
the following
verses forbid
a woman from
being pastor
of a Church
and preaching
to and
teaching men
from the
pulpit.
1 Timothy
2:12,
"But I
suffer not a
woman to
teach, nor to
usurp
authority over
the man, but
to be in
silence."
1 Timothy
3:2,
"A bishop
then must be
blameless, the
husband of
one wife,
The
Christian
Church do not
believe these
verses do not
apply for
today.
THE
CHRISTIAN
CHURCH AND
CHURCHES OF
CHRIST
CONCERNING THE
CHARISMATIC
MOVEMENT AND
SPEAKING IN
TONGUES
History
seems to
indicate that
much phenomena
of the current
Charismatic
Movement was
found in the
early days of
the
Restoration
Movement of
the Christian
Church and
Disciples of
Christ. Mayer
in his
RELIGIOUS
BODIES OF
AMERICA states
on page 373,
"(Barton)
Stone became
the moving
spirit in the
Kentucky
Revival (in
1801 in Cane
Ridge,
Kentucky,
about 30 miles
northeast of
Frankfurt,
Kentucky), and
which for its
religious
frenzy, and
its 'Holy
exercises' is
unique in
Revivalism"
In the
footnotes
Mayer quotes
several
sources
describing
these 'Holy
exercises':
"These
phenomena,
known as
religious
exercises,
were 'holy
jerks' or
'shakes'
(terrific
bodily
contortions as
evidence of
the devil's
presence),
'holy barking'
(simulating
the barking of
a dog when it
has treed its
prey),
incessant
laughter
followed by
complete
exhaustion."
Christian
Churches today
do not
restrict
people with
the
'Charismatic
Gifts' and
allow great
freedom in
their worship
services for
people use
their 'gifts'
of tongues,
holy laughter,
shakes,
barking, etc.
While
Christian
Churches
(Disciples of
Christ) are
very
ecumenical and
members of the
World Council
of Churches
and the
National
Council of
Churches, the
Churches of
Christ and
Independent
Christian
Churches are
not.
Christian
Churches are
openly a part
of Local
Ministerial
Associations
where
different
pastors
believe in
different
methods or
ways of
salvation.
They openly
promote such
ecumenical
ventures such
as PROMISE
KEEPERS, are
members of the
radical
NATIONAL
COUNCIL OF
CHURCHES and
THE WORLD
COUNCIL OF
CHURCHES. In
last WORLD
COUNCIL OF
CHURCH
gathering,
prayer was led
to the
'Goddess
Sophia'........
Summary
Since its
formation in
the 1800's,
Mead's
Handbook
notes,
"....differences
arose among Restorationists,
and over time,
distinct
fellowships
emerged..."
The
Christian
Church
Movement
offers an
interesting
observation.
While some of
the Christian
Churches are
stagnant and
dying, others
(The
Independent
Christian
Churches) seem
to be growing
in phenomenal
leaps.
Mead's
notes on page
110,
"In recent
years, some of
the Christian
Church
congregations
have
experienced
enormous
growth,
reaching
audiences of
up to 20,000
worshippers."
In fact,
several of
these
'Christian
Churches' have
become
'Mega-Churches'
with
tremendous
crowds. Many
of these
Mega-Christian
Churches have
adapted the
'Seeker-Friendly'
approach to
church growth
and offer
'Christian
Rock' with
complete band
and musicians
on stage,
instead of the
regular 'piano
and organ';
'Praise music'
instead of the
traditional
hymns and
hymnbooks;
Casual and
informal
worship
service
replacing the
more formal
worship
service;
Casual dress
is the norm;
Drama and
skits play a
major role in
the worship
service, with
participation
from old and
young alike.
With multiple
services and
refreshments
in between,
and lots of
'contemporary
music', many
are attracted
to the
informal
atmosphere.
Instead of the
normal
'midweek'
service, many
of these
'mega-churches'
have 'cell
groups' in
which smaller
groups meet,
often in
peoples'
homes.
These
"mega-churches"
still hold to
the basic
doctrines of
the Christian
Church and
Churches of
Christ
regarding
Water Baptism
as being
necessary for
remission of
sins and
rejecting the
Unconditional
Eternal
Security that
most Baptists
hold to. etc.
Churches
of Christ are
unique in that
they do not
use musical
instruments at
all and only
use a
canella
singing (a far
extreme from
the Christian
Rock music
found in the
Independent
Christian
'Mega-Churches'!)
Churches
of Christ are
also unique in
that they do
not take a
literal view
of the Book of
Revelation,
but rather
take a
figurative
view of the
last book of
the Bible.

Ye Must Be Born Again!
It
does not require
Baptism!
Salvation
(eternal
life) for the
"body of
Christ" is as
follows:
Ephesians 2:
8-10, 1
Corinthians
15: 1-4,
Romans 10:
9-13
et al
The
explanation
for Baptism
from the King
James life
application
bible version below.
I recommend
Baptism for
the reasons
below,
but not for
SALVATION!
Baptism
of John: John
1: 25-26*, John
1: 33,
Baptism
as a sign of
repentance:
Matt 3: 6*
What
Baptism
symbolizes: Mt
3: 11,
Mark 1: 4*,
Rom 6: 1-4,
Col 2: 11-12,
1 Pet 3: 21,
Baptism
with the Holy
Spirit
by fire: Mt
3:11, Mk 1: 8,
Luke 3: 16,
Why was
Jesus
Baptized: Mt
3: 13-15, Mk
1: 9, Luke
3: 21-22*
How it
(baptism) identifies
a believer
with Jesus: Mt
28: 19*, Mk
16: 16,
Baptism
of the Holy
Spirit: Acts
1: 5
John
1: 25-26*:
John was
baptizing Jews. The
Essenes (a
strict ,
monastic sect
of Judaism)
practiced
baptism for
purification,
but normally
only non-Jews
(Genitals) were
baptism when
they converted
to Judaism.
When the
Pharisees
asked by what
authority he
was baptizing,
they were
asking John
who gave him
the right to
treat God's
chosen people
like Genitals.
"I baptize
with
water."-- he
was merely
helping the
people perform
a symbolic
act
of repentance.
.
Mat
3: 6*:
When you wash
dirty hands,
the result are
immediately
visible. But
repentance
happens inside
with a
cleansing that
isn't
immediately
seen, So John
used a
symbolic
action that
people could
see: baptism.
The Jews used
baptism to
initiate
converts, so
John's
audience was
familiar with
the rite.
Here baptism
was used as an
[outward] sign
of repentance
and
forgiveness
not an act for
forgiveness.
(Romans
10: 9-13).
Mk
1: 4*:
In John
ministry,
baptism was a
visible sign
that a person
had decided to
change his or
her life,
giving up a
sinful and
selfish way of
living and
turning to
God. John
took a known
custom and
gave it new
meaning. The
Jews often
baptized
non-Jews who
had converted
to Judaism.
But to baptize
a Jew as a
sign of
repentance was
a radical
departure from
Jewish
custom.
The early
church took
baptism a step
further,
associating it
with
Jesus' Death
and
Resurrection.
(Romans
6: 3-4, 1
Peter 3: 21).
Luke
3: 21-22*:
If baptism was
a sign of
repentance
from sin, why
did Jesus ask
to be
baptized?
Several
explanation
are often
given;
(1) Jesus
baptism was
one step in
fulfilling his
earthly
mission of
identifying
with our
humanity and
sin; (2) by
endorsing the
rite of
baptism he was
giving us an
example to
follow; (3) he
was announcing
the beginning
of his public
ministry; (4)
he was being
baptized for
the sins of
the nation.
The Holy
Spirit's
appearance in
the form of a
dove showed
that God's
plan for
salvation was
centered in
Jesus. Jesus
was the
perfect man
who didn't
need baptism
for sin, but
he was
baptized
anyway on our
behalf.
The above
mention
commentaries
are from the
'Life
application
Bible' King
James Version to
help explain
why baptism in
used as an
outward
sign
to other
believers or
non-believers, one's
willingness to
submit to the
Lord and his
Lordship.
Baptism must
never be
confused as a
requisite unto
[or] for
salvation. 1
Corinthians
15: 1-4.
Once you
co-mingle for
salvation any
good work,
rite, or
custom to the
finished work
of Calvary you
nullify
the saving
grace of the
cross. Eph
2: 2-10 Remember
some of Jesus'
last words
before he died
on the Cross:
John 19: 30 "it
is finished"
(Teleo)

in Full") Tetelestai.

a sermon
by Pastor Lee Gliddon
In
His name
I
send these
sermons to my
Friends and
Family who
may, or may
not, be able
to attend the
traditional
‘church’
services. It
is a Biblical
fact that we
Christians are
the body of
the church and
Christ is the
head.
(Ephesians
4:15) Some sad
facts are that
a Christian
polling firm
has data that
reflects that
seventy six
(76) million
people, who
identify
themselves as
Christian
avoid going to
church
services at
all and of all
Christians,
thirty four
percent attend
services only
for weddings,
funerals, and
other special
events.
Sadly,
of all
Christian
church groups,
only seventy
seven (77)
percent say
that they are
totally or
‘somewhat’
committed to
the Christian
faith!
People,
we, the Mature
Christians,
are the church
and Jesus
Christ is the
head of our
church.
Ephesians
5:23…like
Christ, who is
the head of
His body, the
church…
Ephesians
5:29 …just
as Christ
cares for His
body, which is
the church.
It is
better if you
can join in
with other
Christians and
praise and
worship the
Lord. You owe
that to the
Lord as in
fellowship you
can, more
perfectly,
worship Him as
you must!
If
that is not
possible, for
one reason or
another, then
be not fearful
but meet with
at least one
other
Christian and
pray with that
person. You
must, either
in a ‘church’
setting or in
a small
gathering,
fellowship
with other
Christians.
This is an
absolute must
because to
only pay ‘lip
service’ and
say, “I am a
Christian,
will not get
you on God’s
narrow path.
If
you cannot go
to a ‘church’
gathering and
must meet with
only one or
two other
Christians,
I’d be even
joyful if my
sermon was to
be read aloud
by one and
then discussed
amongst the
two or more of
you. Then you
would be a
church
gathering.
Matthew
18:20 “For
where two or
three are
gathered
together, in
My name, I am
there in the
midst of them.”
(KJV)
Matthew
18:20 “…because
they are
mine…” (NLT)
Matthew
18:20 “….come
together…”
(NIV)
Some
denominations
are quick to
deny even the
teaching of
the Bible in
this area as
this can
affect the
tithes given
by the body of
the church.
This is sad.
Sad because
tithes should
not be a
concern if the
Christians
spoken to or
sermons
delivered to
are true to
Christ. In
being true
Christians,
take care of
the ill, feed
the hungry,
clothe the
needy and, see
to the needs
of the poor.
The true
purpose of
‘church’ is to
lead others to
Christ.
In
support of my
assertions I
have studied
the Bible and
have been lead
to cite many
verses of
Scripture that
directly
relate to this
matter.
Acts
2:41 Those
who believed
what Peter had
said were
baptized and
added to the church-
about three
thousand in
all.
Romans
16:23 “…I
am his guest
and the church
meets here in
his home…”
1
Corinthians
5:4 …you
are to call a
meeting of the
church
and I will be
there in
spirit, and
the power of
the Lord
Jesus will be
with you
as you meet.
Acts
2:41 says
those who
believed and
were baptized
were added to
the church.
There was no
formal name of
a church at
that time.
Three thousand
believers
would not have
fit into any
‘church’
building. In
any case, the
three thousand
were from
areas that
would have
made a single
congregation,
as we now see
them,
virtually
impossible.
In
Romans 16:23
we learn of
the church who
meets in a
man’s home.
How does any
building meet
anywhere? The
body may meet
anywhere and
the body can
be as small as
two
Christians!
1
Corinthians
confirms God’s
promise that
our Lord and
Savior, Jesus
Christ, will
be with us
when we meet
in His name.
To
meet in Jesus’
name is to be
in the
presence of
God and not to
be taken
lightly. As
you meet in
Jesus’ name
you must see
yourself in
His presence
as well as He
in yours. Be
ever aware
that it is
your duty to
serve Him and
to walk in His
footsteps.
Ephesians
1:23 And
the church is
His body, it
is filled with
Christ, who
fills
everything
everywhere
with His
presence.
When
meeting and
with
realization
that Jesus is
with you, know
that He is
God. In being
God He must
not be seen as
merely a man,
but as God in
all of His
Glory. Speak
reverently and
with full
awareness of
His awesome
power and love
for His
church.
Many
seek to be the
power instead
of allowing
God to be
present with
them. The
purpose of
meeting
together is to
learn more
about God and
His will and
to be
encouraging to
those with us.
Just as I have
told you about
the absolute
need of
repentance and
the need to
truly believe,
I now tell you
of making God
the focus
point in your
life.
1
Titus 4:13 Until
I get there,
focus on
reading
Scripture to
the church,
encouraging
believers, and
teaching them.
The
person chosen
to read the
sermon is not
to express
views contrary
to the lesson
taught in the
sermon. It is
not that I
think myself
more
knowledgeable,
but I have, in
being
ordained,
accepted the
dictates of
God and His
power.
James
3:1 Dear
brothers and
sisters, not
many of you
should become
teachers in
the church,
for we who
teach will be
judged by God
with greater
strictness.
The
entire gist of
this teaching
is to make you
aware of what
it means to
attend church.
It is not
going to a
building, it
is not going
to a chapel or
cathedral, and
it is not a
meeting of
huge numbers
of Christians.
It is praising
God, being
aware of His
awesome
presence,
being in a
state of
worship, and
knowing that
you are
fulfilling His
will. It is
praying to God
continually.
Do
not dismay
about not
going to a set
building of
worship as God
is with you no
matter how
humble the
setting. Go if
at all
possible but
do know that
you must
fellowship
with one
or more
Christians so
as to gain the
presence of
Jesus Christ
among your
gathering.
(Closing prayer)
Heavenly
Father, we
thank You for
Your presence
amongst us and
praise You
above
everything.
You are an
awesome power
and we worship
You. Please
accept our
praise and our
worship. Keep
us ever
mindful of
loving one
another and
truly living a
life worthy of
You. Please
strengthen us
in our
repentance of
wrongdoing and
clothe us in
gowns of
righteousness.
We thank you
as our El
Shaddai for
all You have
given us and
all that we
receive.
Jehovah
Sabaoth, we
ask that you
be with our
military and
have Your
angels protect
them. You are
our God and it
is to You we
bow and to no
other.
In Jesus’ name we pray who is One with
You and the
Holy Spirit.
One God forever and ever,
One God forever and ever,
Amen, amen and amen.

The Wake up Herald
I’m
Offended and
I’m
Not
Going to Take
it Anymore!
by Don Boys, Ph.D.
I’m
not easily
offended but
in recent
months I have
become very offended.
After all, if
homosexuals,
Indians,
Blacks,
Hispanics,
sports nuts,
radical
leftists,
atheists,
media moguls,
and others can
be offended,
then I have
that right
also. It has
become
axiomatic that
the right not
to be offended
is in the U.S.
Constitution;
however, I
have read our
Constitution,
memorized some
of it, studied
it, but cannot
find in it the
right not
to be
offended. Maybe
it’s in the
same place the
Court found
the right to
an abortion
and the right
to
homosexuality.
I
wonder if
being a Bible
believing
Christian
disqualifies
me from being
offended.
Maybe I’m not
permitted that
luxury.
Whatever the
answers to the
above, I want
to go on
record to the
world that
today I am not
just offended,
but very
offended. I
may even stomp
my feet and
hold my
breath!
I’m
offended that
everyone is so
panicky about
offending
Muslims,
Methodists,
and
Manichaeists
but consider
it open season
on
Fundamentalists.
From Atheism
(which is a
religion
although it
doesn’t have
any holidays
except April
Fools’ Day) to
Zoroastrianism,
everyone seems
to be very
“touchy.”
Well, I’m also
“touchy” and I
want everyone
to know about
it.
I’m
offended that
the God Haters
(note the
shameless use
of the title
of my eBook!)
are offended
by a manger
scene while I
can’t be
offended by
movies and
television
shows that
present
fornication,
adultery, and
perversion as
accommodating,
affirmative,
acceptable, if
not admirable;
and at
politicians
whose first
and most
important
qualification
seems to be
the ability to
lie? I mean,
I’m really
offended.
I’m
offended by
homosexuals
and the media
who bully,
badger, and
blackmail
decent people
to accept,
even approve, perversion.
I’m
offended that
perversion has
been accepted
as normalcy
and those of
us who believe
it is wrong
(as sane
people have
believed for
thousands of
years) are
considered to
be abnormal
and haters.
I’m
offended that
radical
leftists can
spew out vile,
violent,
vicious
vitriol with
impunity
against
Christians but
a Christian
like Phil
Robertson gets
fired from a
television
show for
stating his
opinion about
immorality. (I
think it was
not only
opinion but
facts, but
then leftists
can’t deal
with facts.)
I’m
offended at
megapastors
and television
evangelists
who distort,
denigrate, and
even deny the
Bible to build
a personal
empire while
living as
drunks,
deviates, and
dopeheads!
I’m
offended by
loosey-goosey
Evangelicals
who polish
Obama’s apple
trying to make
him look
“religious”
while they
pretend to
wear the
mantle of Old
Testament
prophets.
I’m
offended by
educators who
threaten
children who
bring a toy
gun the size
of a quarter
to school and
expel students
who only draw
a picture
of a
gun!
I’m
offended at
stupid
educators who
arrive at
school each
day and park
their brains
at the door
along with
their common
sense.
I’m
offended by
the incredible
incompetence
of public
educators from
Kindergarten
through
graduate
school.
I’m
offended that
over a million
unborn babies
are butchered
annually in
America and
those of us
who want to
protect
helpless
children and
women are
considered
cold, callous,
and cruel!
I’m
offended that
an
animal-rights
group has
filed a
lawsuit
seeking “legal
personhood”
for
chimpanzees in
the state of
New York, the
state with the
nation’s
highest
abortion
rates!
I’m
offended that
robbers,
rapists, and
racketeers
walk our
streets while
the bandits,
boozers, and
bunglers in
Washington are
praised,
pursued, and
pampered.
I’m
offended by
PETA and other
animal
fanatics for
trying to
shame me for
believing that
animals are
not children
when PETA
kills 2,000
dogs and cats
each year!
I’m
offended that
the media and
self-seeking
politicians
have made
Nelson Mandela
into an
international
icon when he
was a
Communist
terrorist and
traitor to his
own nation.
I’m
offended that
politicians
quickly lead
our nation
into foreign
wars that are
no threat to
us and then
are not called
to an
accounting in
their desire
to force
“democracy”
upon
uneducated,
uncouth, and
unresponsive
people.
I
suppose I am
naïve to think
that there is
an antidote
for my
offense-propensity
and no doubt
it is silly to
think decent
people will be
treated fairly
by others. But
I’m a
believer. I
also believe
Muslims will
actually
become
peaceful; the
Middle East
nations will
become Gardens
of Paradise
where
civility,
kindness,
justice, and
biblical
principles
will prevail;
Obama will be
impeached,
then become
Born Again and
become a
missionary to
Pakistan;
Taiwan will
retake Red
China; Pepsi
will sell for
a nickel again
and any day
they’ll find
Jimmy Hoffa,
Judge Parker
and Amelia
Earhart
playing
Monopoly in a
Bronx yogurt
joint?
Yes,
I’m as easily
offended as
anyone and I’m
not going to
take it
anymore. You
ask, “What are
you going to
do about it?”
Well, I’m not
sure but I’m
offended that
you asked.
And to
the drooling
New Atheists
and the God
Haters (there,
I did it
again) out
there, I wish
even them a
Merry
Christmas and
if that
offends them,
too bad.
They’ll get
over it.
