1. Yes, I Think This Means the GOP is Winning
Polling
shows more Americans blame the GOP than Barack Obama. I think this means
the GOP is winning. You’ll need to let me explain.
Republican leaders have lived in abject fear
for the last two months that there would be an overwhelming backlash
against them. In 1995, public opinion ran against the GOP 2 to 1. Bill
Clinton consistently got the better of the GOP.
With that
history in mind, the GOP leadership in Washington, when no fundraising
off Ted Cruz’s hard line, has been soiling itself afraid the GOP might
actually go along with him.
And the party did.
The
result? Independents blame both the Democrats and the Republicans about
equally. Overall, the GOP gets the most blame, but not a whole lot more
than the Democrats. The CNN push alert to my phone yesterday summed it
up pretty succinctly . . . please click here for the rest of the post →
2. Reality of Obamacare is Doing More for Conservatism than the Consultant Class Ever Has
If you
head over to San Jose Mercury News, you’ll see an article posted over
the weekend talking about the impact of Obamacare on individuals. What’s
most interesting is that it shows the evolving opinions from those who
previously or currently support the healthcare law, and those opinions,
unsurprisingly, vary depending on their personal situation. . . . please click here for the rest of the post →
3. NPS Threatened WWII Vets With Arrest But Now Opens Mall For Union Bosses’ Immigration Rally During #Shutdown
It truly seemed like we’re living in a world
dictated to us by Lilliputian bureaucrats when a group of World War II
veterans were threatened with arrest for having the temerity last week
to visit the World War II Memorial during the government shutdown.
Now,
however, said Lilliputian bureaucrats who attempted to block America’s
octogenarian war heroes last week are showing their two-faced true
colors by opening the National Mall Tuesday to union bosses holding an
immigrant rights rally. . . . please click here for the rest of the post →
4. White House confirms: the #obamacare signup numbers are really, really bad.
Which is why they won’t release them for at least a month. . . . please click here for the rest of the post →
5. ObamaCare will survive by suppressing dissent, not satisfying customers
It’s been
interesting to watch the unlucky souls who managed to navigate the
Glitch Forest, cross the 404 Wasteland, evade the Bugs of Unusual Size,
and finally access HealthCare.gov recoil in shock from their sky-high
premiums. They had no idea how expensive “free health care” would turn out to be. More
to the point, these people didn’t realize they would be paying the
freight, even though ObamaCare critics have been warning them about it
since the beginning. They believed Obama’s lies about reduced premiums, and now their hearts are stopping when they realize they’ve been had. . . . please click here for the rest of the post →
6. The Debt Ceiling is the Law of the Land
Over the
past few weeks, Democrats have indicated that they have no intention of
negotiating over Obamacare, opting instead to shut down the government. They are justifying their obstinacy by asserting that Obamacare is the law of the land. Well, if that is the game they want to play, we should return the favor with the debt ceiling. The debt ceiling, pursuant to the Second Liberty Bond Act of 1917, is the law of the land. And it has been so for far longer than Obamacare. . . . please click here for the rest of the post →
