THOSE THAT BELIEVE - A MESSAGE FOR YOU

Submitted by: Richard Ruhling

Dear Fellow Believer,

The Bible suggests that Elijah is a model for our praying.
It says that Elijah prayed that it might not rain [for Israel's conversion] adding
"that he which converts a the sinner...shall save a soul..." James 5:17-20

Ellen White offers this view--
"As Elijah saw Israel going deeper and deeper into idolatry, his soul was distressed and his indignation aroused. God had done great things for His people. He had delivered them from bondage and given them "the lands of the heathen, . . . that they might observe His statutes, and keep His laws." Psalm 105:44, 45. But the beneficent designs of Jehovah were now well-nigh forgotten. Unbelief was fast separating the chosen nation from the Source of their strength.

"Elijah was overwhelmed with sorrow. In anguish of soul he besought God to arrest the once-favored people in their wicked course, to visit them with judgments, if need be, that they might be led to see in its true light their departure from Heaven. He longed to see them brought to repentance before they should go to such lengths in evil-doing as to provoke the Lord to destroy them utterly." Prophets & Kings, pg 120.

God promises to send Elijah before the great and dreadful day of the Lord with the intent to turn the hearts of fathers to children and children to [parents]. Malachi 4:5,6. The following suggests that for us, it may be a spiritual application--

When "all the green grass is burnt up" in Revelation 8:7, if it were literal, we would die because the grains are grasses, but it's the economy, "for as the flower of the grass, so shall the rich man fade." James 1:9-11, King James. It suggests that God's intent is to afflict economy to bring repentance as Elijah prayed.

Revelation 8:7 is the 1st trumpet plague. When God got ready to deliver His people from Egypt, He attacked the gods of Egypt, like the Nile and cattle. Money is America's god, and the first trumpet plague will afflict the economy more seriously than the warning we had in 2008 when, on the Feast of Trumpets (new moon in October) the US Senate approved $760 billion for bankers and the stock market crashed for 10 days, just like anciently they blew trumpets 10 days before the Dan of Atonement (Judgment Day).

The Feast of Trumpets (Leviticus 23:24) this year is Monday, October 7. Why not pray that God will bring judgment at this appropriate time for judgment, for "if two of you shall agree on anything they shall ask, it shall be done...where two or three are gathered together in my name." Matthew 18:19,20. Please join me in fasting and prayer on October 7.

To the intent that we may share in an Elijah ministry to "restore all things," Matthew 17:11.
